What are the best M9 mags out there in terms of reliability and capacity?

Wrong forum... but regardless, in my limited experience with Berettas (military and a little outside of the military) I like the issued CMI mags best

I always found the Italy made Beretta factory mags the most reliable.

Are these the ones marked PB?

The Beretta OEM mags (which are usually marked "PB") or the Mec-Gar mags are the best out there. I believe that Mec-Gar is in fact the OEM for Beretta.

The Checkmate (CMI) mags were such an abortion for so long that I don't care how good the new ones are, I won't trust them.

Yep, hands down the Beretta OEM mags are what you want.

Factory maked Beretta mags or Mec-Gar branded, both have worked well for us

Another vote for either factory Berretta or Mec-gar mags.

I've got a couple megcar high caps, 18 rounders that have never failed. The new factory mags that come with the new m9a1, designed for sandy conditions have work nice for me too. But I also understand the 92a1 comes with a new high cap factory mag. But I have never tried them.

Blued steel OEM Beretta - preferably the ones marked PB Made in Italy. When the springs get weak, replace them with Wolff.

Check-Mate magazines were some of the worst magazines ever to be produced by a human.

Years ago I had an original Italian made Beretta and about a dozen factory mags. They were excellent mags and always worked.

Best? Beretta, MDS and Mec Gar, trust nothing else. The older mags with an aluminum base can crack if dropped on a hard surface. Don't get to attached to your springs, replace if they show any sign of weakness with XP Wolff springs.

Another vote for Mec Gar here, though my magazines are not new ones.

I have 15rd, 17rd and 20rd mags by Mec Gar that have been flawless.
The 17s and 20s have been modified so they will also work in a SIG 226. They have been perfect there too.

Anybody here know of a source for replacement followers for the 92FS 15rnd mags?

Ive got several of the early Beretta mags with aluminum followers that the slide stop has worn through the shelf of.
I have a bag full of new Wolff mag springs,so I just need followers.Beretta's $15.00 per mag rehab kit seems a bit much just to get the followers.

Awesome, I have 2 of the Italian PB ones. I want something with a little more capacity tho.

I've never heard of mags coming from mec-gar, for any gun, that did not offer near absolute reliability. (obviously shit happens, but in general, they are top quality)My friends m92 has factory mags(may be mec-gars) and have been 100% flawless.

That seems a bit much for a magazine I've bought new for $20 plus or minus. Keep your eyes open for mag deals on the errornet.

Yeap, thats how I feel abou it too.
I did find that Check-Mate sells just followers for around $7.00.If they fit/work in the OEM mags properly that is a good fix to get my old mags back on line.
I ordered a couple of the new/current Check-Mate mags for T&E.If they run out alright, thats what Im going to start buying as they sell the replacement parts individually and complete mags are around $16.00.

No contest - Beretta factory mags. Keep an eye on the beretta website, they often have deals on magazines. I think CDNN had some factory 92 mags for around $20 recently too.

I picked up a ton of the PV coated "sand resistant" mags from the beretta website, $22/each with free shipping.

The deals come/go so keep your eyes open, but quality factory mags can be had for $20 easy.

As said above, factory Beretta or Mec-Gar will serve you well. CDNN sometimes has the factory 15-rounders for $15 or $18. Best deal around.

I only used Italian made Beretta mags in the 92 I used to have and they worked flawlessly.
