A local shop has stripped DPMS .308 lowers, and it appears that parts for their uppers and lowers can be ordered directly from DMPS, so this got me thinking about a possible build. Just out of curiosity, what (if any) compatibility is there between the DPMS LR-308 and the AR-10 in regards to uppers and lowers? Does the DPMS lower only work with a DPMS upper on it? Are aftermarket barrels (like Noveske) that are advertised for the AR-10 incompatible with the DPMS? Do any AR-10 rails (like LaRue) fit the DPMS? I see that DD offers rails for both the DPMS and Armalite, so there clearly must be differences.

It seems unlikely that there would be any compatibility between the two, and I guess my plans are not really contingent upon any, but I thought I would check. I basically know nothing about .308 ARs. :)

Thanks.

There is vary little compatibility between the two. Other then the fire control parts. Different mags. Uppers and lower not compatible, same with the BCG and barrel nut.

I had a pile O SR25, AR10, and DPMS BCG parts around... maybe you can exchange the bolts, I used a SR extractor in AR10's before.
