I like using ammo cans to store mags for different guns. For instance I store my AR-15 mags in SAW drum cans. It's a -perfect fit, you can store four basic loads, 28 mags, per can or 30 mags if you put two sideways. Like this:

I haven't found an ammo cans that hold AK mags in a similar efficient manner. Does anyone know of one? The best I've used so far is a .50 linked can and that only holds 10 mags. I don't care what kind of can it is as long as it can be found relatively easily and isn't oo expensive.

Honestly, no. AR USGI mags have such a straight profile that finding a container that fits them really isn't that hard. The best "neato" storage I've found for AK magazines are BREN magazine boxes which hold 12 magazines quite nicely. Good luck finding any though.

Some of the old wooden ammunition boxes have a tall enough profile so as to fit AK mags sitting on the toe and front hook (IOW, bullets down), they still don't tend to fit that many.

I stack mine in 40mm cans. Can't remember how many fit, but it's heavy enough...

They fit in the wooden cases my Yugo M67 comes in.

The short 40MM cans are pretty good as well as the tall 20MM cans. I think J&G Sales in Arizona is selling them now.
