Ok guru's what would you say is POI difference & 100yds. 200yds, 300yds of
M193 Vs. MK262? Anyone shoot the more attainable .223 version of MK262 and can comapre as well?

Well the M193 or commercial equivalent is not even the same league accuracy wise as the MK262... Now that being said, in a perfect world the height of the POI would only be affected only by the weight of the bullet. All else being equal the 55 grain M193 would strike slightly higher than the 77 grain MK262...

But the M193 is far from MOA ammunition and you might see a greater change of the perceived POI by the limitations of the M193...

Now I use M193 (Winchester white box Q3131) in my duty carbine as it meets, or exceeds, my requirements, but it is not in any way, shape, or form MK262...

Yup im aware of the accuracy of mil ammo(recent retiree here), im trying to figure out how much lower the MK262 will come in in regards to the M193 and M855? I know nothing will be exact but I dont shoot enough 77gr BH at 40.00-50.00 a box to zero a optic for it.

I know it's not the ammo you asked about, or the range you're interested in, and that my groups suck, but hopefully these pics will help a bit. :D

The ammo shown is Black Hills 75 grain, Wolf 62, XM193 55, Prvi 55, and Barnaul 62.

At the distances that you are talking about, 100 - 300 meters/yards, the difference is negligible... I cant even see an inch or two at 300 meters... The MK262 starts to perform out past 400 meters...

I have to agree with Buck. I have my 16" MRP sighted in at 200 yds with M193, and when I shoot MK262, it's minuscule in difference. same at 300 yds. If you're going to be shooting Head Shots at the distances you're mentioning, then you need to dial it in and keep a log of your sight adjustments for each load.

Personally, I dial it in at 200 yds. with MK262, and forget about it. I use 55gn. "Anything" for training and I can always hit the "Dinger" at 100 or 300 if needed, but I'm always "ready to go" with the 77 Gn. load.

Thanks guys, I will probably break down and buy a higher power optic and QD mount for my out of the safe gun. Currently I have a 1-4X DMS-1 and sometimes a Eotech on it. Something with alittle more range would be fun to reach out and touch a target that I have to hum it to to retrieve. Now all I have to do is find a place that I can shoot past 200yds.
