I dealt with similar incident at a Burger King yesterday. The unarmed drunk threatened to "shoot me in the head with a 44 magnum". You never know.
Officer Jaime Padron was a 17 year LEO and former Marine. He leaves behind 2 daughters.
Rest In Peace Brother.

When will the senseless killing/injuries to the men & women who serve in ALL capacities to humanity be enough to STOP the continuing flawed politcal azimuth of no accountability for their actions of advocating/passing laws to protect/reward the slackers/non contributing parasites?
The obvious agenda of disarming the masses so that a Police State of ZERO tolerance is where this leads after they GAME the system to get the votes they need to further the agenda until all human & constitutional rights are eliminated. Then the agenda of population control can be implemented after the disarmamnent phase.
Yawn, history going to repeat itself .....
RIP Officer Padron.

rip, thank you for the years of service, rest well.
RIP and thanks for your dedication.
Don't think it's an illegal. Oriental looking guy with a previous DUI in Feb. College grad. Unconfirmed rumor from an interview suggests he was at Wallyworld to refill a Xanax script. Not sure how valid that claim is though. It's coming from a media source. Would make sense seeing that everyone they interviews claim he was happy go lucky guy.

Don't think it's an illegal.
Not that names matter these days, but it did not sound Latino.
This happened just miles from where my folks live. I hate this shit, I really hate it! This drunk xanaxed out POS can rot in hell.
Rest in Peace Senior Officer Jaime Padron. Prayer sent to your family.

It sounds as though Jaime's funeral is going to be on Wednesday . . .
So far they have only released the shooter's first name which leads me to believe he is an Illegal Alien. I just can't understand how this kind of thing has become so common within the US:mad: A great patriot senselessly killed by a smiling dirtbag:(

Brandon Montgomery Daniel????
They originally only released a photo and a single name as if he did not have ID only gave a first name. Not trying to be political.
Fixed the speculation in original post.
I had some inside info from a news source which may be incorrect
RIP, Officer.
Standing by for the "your job isn't that dangerous" gooftards to show up.
Oh, and save that disarmament/conspiracy bullshit for another day.

You should find an outlet for your angst.

Just as a point of clarification, this is FAR from common place here in Austin. I believe APD has lost a grand total of 20 officers since inception, so thankfully this is a rarity here. It's just that LEO killed in the line of duty rightfully get considerable media attention.
Please dont think this is an every day occurance around here. People may vent and rant about the "revenue collectors" giving then a ticket, but for the most part we still greatly value and respect their service to our community.

While I agree with the sorrow and anger over this, the facts are that while LEO deaths in April of 2011 were up 20% from the same point in 2010, that came to be an aberration brought about by a few mass shootings that made the numbers rise. This year compared to the last, police officer deaths are down 48%.
Don't buy into Holder's hype that there's a "war on cops.". It is a means to an end with him and you can bank on him not having LEOs as the reason he made the hysterical press conferences but rather justification for gun control.
I am so tired of seeing the good guys get taken Like this Prayers for his Family Rest In Peace Sir!
Once again... We are diminished...

One of my neighbors is an Austin LEO and I assume the funeral was today because both he and wife were in formal black attire today when we were picking our kids up.
Best of wishes to the officers family, friends, and colleagues.

I wonder if all band together and bitch and moan the loudest, and fail to cease until we get our way.... if we could get the bastard that shot him hung in a public gallows the day he is found guilty....
I mean... it works for the Black Panthers right?
I've always held the firm belief that if I were ever to come into large sums of money by way of the Powerball or Mega Millions, that I would assemble a secretive force of former SAD and Tier 1 guys into a real life A-Team... and when things like this happen... when an officer is killed by some shitbag needlessly... or when a child is kidnapped only to be found a few days later beheaded in a ditch... for that will be our time of retribution... for then the greatest force of man hunters on the planet will begin their hunt... and wont stop until those who have wronged, have paid for their transgressions
our jails would from then on be empty of rapists, child molesters, and murders.... with no worries of them ever re-assimilating back into society
It would only a few instances of some shitbag being blown in half by a Mk211 round from 2,000 meters away as he enters the court room for trial, before things would begin to sink in....
You should find an outlet for your angst.
I take care of it at work.

I take care of it at work.
That doesn't surprise me at all given your comments about your work but showing up to complain on a gun forum about a perceived lack of sorrow every time an officer dies ain't helping anyone. I don't do the same when servicemen die because it's of no use. Tip a drink for the fallen instead.

God Speed brother. The motorcade was impressive.
God Speed brother. The motorcade was impressive.
First, God Bless this Officer. RIP

The reports from that area are saying that the motorcade shut down the highways to such a degree that parents couldn't pick up their kids for hours, ambulances were heavily delayed in arriving to calls, etc.
I don't think impressive is the correct word.
I'm totally for paying respects to a fallen sheepdog. But when the service is so grandiose that people start being put at heightened risk, we may want to reevaluate.

There are many, many things in our country that worry and concern me.
But then I watch a group of Patriot Guard Riders at a military funeral, or see the hundreds that lined the road for that motorcade.
It eases the fears, but never the sadness. RIP Officer Padron, and all our other heroes.
