Hey guys, been looking for a new way to mount my TLR-1's on my duty and training guns, for some time now. I really wanted a simple and light way to mount in front of the fsb and still be able to mount in a squad rack. Once again, Battlecomp amazes me with an outstanding unique product that is just what I need!

I will be ordering a couple of the mossie mounts, but I am unsure which (the reg or pic version) would be better. Right now, I run the lights without a tape switch, but having the option of adding one later would be ok too. I would like to mount the lights as far rearward as possible, just clearing the fsb. Do both versions allow the same rearmost mounting positions when running the TLR-1? Any drawback to the pic version with a TLR-1?

Thanks again guys, for the awesome products. I look forward to ordering these!

Jim,

I'm glad that you like my mount. A lot of thought and effort went into making it something that would fulfill the needs of armed professionals in harms way... The decision of Enhanced Universal or PICT really depends on what other uses you are going to do with your light.

The Enhanced Universal is designed around a Glock Pistol. If your light attaches to a Glock it will fit the Enhanced Universal slot with ZERO fore / aft movement...

If you are not using a light that will fit a Glock and your light is setup for Mil STD 1913 PICT, or you need/want to change out the tail cap to fit a tape switch, then the PICT version is a better choice...

A light configured for a Glock universal slot will fit on the PICT version, but there will be a little fore/aft movement as the PICT slot is almost twice the size of the universal latch...

Thanks Buck. The TLR-1 comes with several keys, one being a width for use in pic slots, so the slot width wouldn't be a concern. I am wondering which model would put the light as far back as possible. It looks like the universal version puts it about as far back as it could go, so that is probably the way for me to go. What's with the name "enhanced universal"? Are there older revisions of the product that I should avoid, or are different in some way, that are not "enhanced"? Thanks again.

Both the EU and PICT version of the MMM will index the light the same distance from the front FSB. The critical dimension to achieve that is the forward edge of the third slot on the PITC version, and that is in the same location on both the EU and PICT mounts. The idea behind the EU, or Enhanced Universal, is that although the X300, TLR1, M3, Procyon, WL1 AA, ETC all have very different methods of attachment, if you are using the U or GL key, you can move the light between your Glock and Carbine as with just a simple click, it requires no modifications, and will be rock solid.

If this does not matter to you and you want a dedicated carbine light that is not ever going on your Glock, then maybe the PICT version is what you want. When the PICT version is used with a PICT key or latch on your light, then again you have a rock solid mounting solution ...

Hope this helps...
