View Full Version : RMR on AR
Sir,
I saw in one of your vids that you are running an RMR. Can you tell me which model it is and how you like it over say an Aimpoint or EOTech?
Thanks much for your time!

I am running the RM06 with a 3.25 dot. I love it.
Now, I am not putting a sight through the rigors of a combat lifestyle anymore but I get pretty close.
I ran six courses last month for example. Used it in varied conditions. Lots of dust and 100 degree heat in New Mexico to pouring rain in Indiana.
I love the fact that it's not obstructed by a huge shroud. It is therefore blazing fast.
Side bar; at 100 yards, the dot fits perfectly within an SR-1 Bull with an eclipse effect so you can drill tacks with it!
I do not have a love affair with any one sight. I run an EOTech on one platform, an Aimpoint on another and an ACOG on yet another. The dot's circumference in the RMR is true however. You get my drift? Unlike the blooming of an Aimpoint's or the frequest figure eight or oblong shape of the EOTech's.
Thanks!
Thanks much. I have this sight as well and think it is excellent. I have to wonder why more people do not use it for AR's?

What mount do you prefer for the RMR?

Strange, I never considered using these type of sights on anything but a pistol. Maybe because I've never seen them in a carbine course and wasn't sure of it's durability. Most similar sights had too big of a dot (6 or larger) for my taste, even for a pistol. It is something to consider for sure with the RM06, especially with a 3.25 dot, weight savings and battery life, which is on par with the Aimpoint T/H-1 series, provided that it is durable enough. I'm too vested in H-1s & other RDSs to switch over, but once the concept of using these on carbines catches on, the RM06 will give those models a run for their money.
I use the mount it come with. It is rugged and rises enough to co-witness with the irons.

To my knowledge, there are only two mounts available for these (Trijicon and ADM). Both are absolute co-witness height. I hope more companies start to make mounts in different heights.
Thanks again for the input.

Pat, glad to see im not the only one running them on my carbines.
I have one that has been mounted since late 2007 pre production protoype dual illum not the best on a carbine dot is huge... and another on my AUG..... they are fast and true as Pat says and pretty durable.
I do run them on my shotguns as well from hunting to classes and matches they are good
