View Full Version : Henderson Defense Khyber!
Got my Khyber a few days ago, quality piece! I was impressed with the fit and finish. The action is smooth and the trigger is nice. It's basically a new gun. I got mine with black furniture. It came with the bullet mag, bayonet, cleaning kit, oil bottle, sling and mag pouch.
Update 1-18-08, Dinger and I hit BW to do some pistol and AK work. I shot 4 mags from her today, functioned 100%!:)
The big thing I'm really happy about is that the windage is perfect!, sights are centered and the impact is right on. I got her hot and ran like a champ. :D

+1 Pics or it didn't happen. :D
mark5pt56’s Henderson Defense Khyber Pass AKM is very impressive. Henderson does some damn nice AK building. The rivet work is flawless, as was the rest of the rifle. Not to mention the entire rifle got a very nice duracoat finish that should hold up very well.
I was very impressed to say the least.
For $680 it’s a steal:
- New Romanian AKM kit
- DCI NDS-KP1 receiver
- Bulgarian metal side-folder
- U.S. black polymer furniture w/ heat shield.
I would be interested to see pictures myself. I just had a very, very similar set up built by Overland Industries. Cost about $550 without the fancy Russian wood. I'll post some pics tomorrow as well.
Spooky
Talking about how nice rifles are without pictures is like talking about how "hot" your old girlfriend is without pictures to prove it. :p
Seriously, interested in the pics.

I must agree.
Everybody knows the Khyber Pass AK has the highest CDI Factor.
Ok, Ok already;) Slipped a 17 in there! And leave my Tigger towel alone

Gotta agree.
Great looking rifle!
Nah, I wanted it with the heat shielded polymer. I plan to do an Ultimak rail on the top with an Aimpoint Micro.

Is this the laminate you speak of?

Forgot to add - these are not from Henderson but from Overland Industries.

Both of those Khybers look great!
Threads like this are making it increasingly difficult for me to resist the call of the Dark Side... I don't think I can hold out much longer. :)

My G kit/Nodak should be in by weeks end, I hope-in Russian Red!
EXCELLENT plan
Expensive though! It will be worth the wait.

From Overland? I had them refinish the original handguards - they are very nice in their Russian red.

Must...have... Khyber...
Very nice rifles on display here.

maybe I'll get one after tax returns...
I missed this thread earlier so I thought I'd bump it up. I bought one of the Henderson Defense AK's about 2 months ago. They are local here in Vegas and I have shot with them several times, so when the time came to get a AK, I figured I might as well give them a shot.
So far my rifle has been perfect through just a little over 600 rounds of Wolf. Sights are well regulated, the finish is nice and even and seems to be holding up well. I plan to buy more from them in the future.
Got word that the new ones will be coming with the scope mount and run $695.00.
Henderson Defense is good people.
and they make great AKs
Mark,
Any updates on the rifle?
Mark,

The Overland? Well, I'm waiting to get it, should've had it, should've got an email, should've should've should've.
Will Henderson Defense supply a parts kit and build on a customer supplied NDS receiver? Looks like they do nice work.

No, the Henderson.

You would have to ask them, I don't know. From my experinece so far, you're better off just buying the weapon from them. Total up parts and pieces and see where you are.

I haven't shot it since the day or so after getting it, shot fine then, I don't see why it won't continue.

That's usually how it is. Thanks.
