Lurked & read here for quite awhile, but finally got around to registering. Definitely a lot of familiar virtual faces here. I've been an ARFCOM member for a long time, but I realized that anymore I mainly frequent that site for hometown forum info & the EE; I rarely go to the tech forums.
I've used black rifles a fair amount, both in the military & now as a civilian in training courses & casual range plinking As an end-user, I thought I knew quite a bit about the platform. However, the more I learn on this site, the more I'm humbled by the realization of how much I didn't know. I can pull the trigger pretty well, can strip/assemble the gun blindfolded, but as far as understanding the rifle at the molecular level & how that can really make a difference on a hard-use platform, I realized I had nary a clue.
So today I registered on the site. In an effort to move away from my former "good enough so long as it's workin' " mindset, I ordered two CMT BCG's from G&R to go in my Bushmaster and one of my CMMGs.
Anyway, a few of you know me by the username "Snail50" on other boards; I got tired of that screen name, so now I'm using the nickname I had in the service.
