Is it possible to run the 60gr. Aguila Super Sniper .22LR in with a Ceiner conversion and a 1-7 twist upper? Does the Aguila have enough power to cycle the action? How is the accuracy?
I was just pondering this the other day & tried mine in the back of our property. Too cold to test for accuracy, but function was 100%.

Thanks for the info. Glad to hear that the action cycled. Given the heavier bullet, I assume that the accuracy would be better in the 1-7 twist barrel but not to sure given the barrel and bullet diameter.

I've found that SSS has plenty of power to cycle the actions of most firearms I've tried it. Unfortunately I don't have anything with a fast enough twist to stabilize it.

It functions perfectly and is my favorite Ceiner round in my 16" AR-15 :)
It's VERY accurate at 25 and 50 yds.

1/7" barrel?
My understanding is my CMMG Bargain Bin Rifle comes with 1/7 twist barrel. It is not marked so I'm assuming that's what it is :)

You could mark a rod and attach a patch, insert it into barrel push down 12" inches and count the rotations, should get you real close to your actually twist rate.

I've had mixed results with that ammo.
Being that it's .22lr I can't rule out that it wasn't simply mishandled at some point in the chain of custody & that's the actual issue.
What sort of round counts are you fellas looking at within your references?
My first 500 went well but the last 500 has had a high FTF rate.

So far less than 200 rounds. So time will tell...

Twist rate shouldn't be an issue. More twist is needed for Longer bullets, not heavier bullets. Granted, a 60 gr bullet in rimfire will be a little longer than a 40 grain, but nowhere near the length of an M856 (for example) in the centerfire realm.
In other words, 1/7 twist is needed to stabilize a bullet that is longer than the entire length of the rimfire cartridge (case included)

I haven't tried it in my 1/7, but it worked fine in my 1/9. Accuracy was about the same as the much cheaper stuff though. Probably because of the twist rate. If I don't forget, I'll try some in my 1/7 LMT sometime this week.
One thing I did note: the lower receiver/trigger group was gnarly with grit and unburned powder after firing a few rounds of the Aguila. That didn't occur with any other rounds tested.
1/16 twist is commonly used for .22LR. Barrels made specifically for the 60 gr. SSS are typically 1/9.
