View Full Version : A pair of G19E prototypes

I completed a second G19E prototype today. I have done several G17 to 19 grip chops leaving the rear of the grip flush with magazine, resembling Travis Haley's chopped 17's.

I prefer the 19 sized grip to the full sized grips, but have always felt the 19 need just a tad more on it. After working out the design and processes, I added a small back section to the grip of my 19, the first prototype.

After carrying it on duty, banging the grip around and shooting it quite a bit to test it's durability, It passed with no issues.

I completed a second prototype for a local friend/customer to test out. If all goes well with it's testing, I will start offering this modification and will post the info on my website.

I have built several Glocks for him, including two chopped 17's to the same specs as Haley's 17's. So naturally he wanted this 19 to be done the same way.

Here are the pics of both of the 19E's.

I am really liking the package you did on the G19, on the right side of the first photo.

Something tells me I'm going to be driving south to your shop. That really does look nice.

I want this done to my duty Gen4 G17 very badly! How much would this package cost me with the reduction and stippling? I can carry a G19 until our next armorer date so it couldnt be gone at your shop for too long. Please let me know.

That is super nice work. Those are the first Glocks that have appeared attractive to me. If you offer those packages I would guess you will be covered up with work.

Nice work!

Can you tell me your thinking behind reducing the area around the mag release so small and not enlarged like others I have seen?

Wow! Really nice work. Some of the nicest, if not THE nicest, Glock work I've yet seen.

I keep considering getting my G21 grip reduced but I shoot it well enough to worry about throwing off my shots.

Nicely done Lane!!! It's nice to see you keep pushing your skills and services farther and farther. I have another 17 frame that's going to be coming your way... beacuse the three pistols you've already done for me just aren't enough.

Will the extension affect the use of vickers mag plates?

That is some phenominal work. I'd prefer to see some provision for removing a stuck mag incorporated, but the craftsmanship is incredible.

I've been running a G17 cut like this but without the grip reduction for about six months. It's the best of both worlds--hides like a 19, shoots like a 17.

Nice work Lane. I have a G17 that I just picked up done up like that !!! I can bring it down to Houston. This would be my 6th done by Lane and his work is top notch.

is the mod the same no matter what? or are the additions different for the +2 mags?

GL30 cries out for this rear grip extension, get more heel of hand on the backstrap.

Really great work, as always.

What is the primary reason for cutting down the length of the grip? Is it mostly to allow better concealment of the pistol for EDC?

Lane,

Looks awesome as usual. Very clean and symmetrical. Your work looks like the pistols came from the factory looking like that.
