I finally bit the bullet, so to speak, and decided to consolidate all my guns to Glocks. The only things left were my Glock holy grail (the 24) and a good, concealable .45, since I have a Glock 20SF.
First off, I hate posts like this, without range reports. I had surgery, and can't go to the range for another 2 months. It is killing me.
I'll start with the Glock 24. I already own the 34 and 35, each of which feels very balanced, purpose built and of quality design. The 24 is a completely different beast. It definitely does not have the same feeling of balance, but it feels much more purpose driven, just in handling. It is obvious that it is designed solely for competition or precision shooting. It feels great in the hand; the grip is intuitive, the trigger is light, but it is slow from holster to presentation, at least for me, without practice. That being said, it is my favorite Glock. I can't wait to take it to the range or shoot steel with it. It will never be a go to in a SHTF scenario, nor do I think it could replace my 35 as my limited gun, but I love it. It is a unique, collectors piece.
Next is the 30S. This is the Glock I have been waiting for since I started shooting Glocks. The ergonomics of the 19/23, with 11 rounds of .45ACP. It fits in 2/3s of my Glock 9mm/40 holsters. Oddly enough, the trigger pull out of the box is better than my other Gen3 Glocks; I am not sure if Glock did something to improve it. This is, without a doubt, the best .45 ACP Glock ever produced, and I have shot them all. I hope the recoil is as manageable as the 30SF given the size. It just feels great in the hand; I am glad I didn't pick up the 19 instead.
