I'm looking at 16" mids gas ARs. I looked at the N4 Light Recce Basic 16", but I prefer black instead of green. So I'm looking at the Sabre Defense M5 carbine. Will I lose much going with the Sabre? What do you lose by not having the bolt and barrel pressure tested?
For right now I just plan to use like once a month at an indoor range that goes out to 25 yards. Also for home defense.

They probably used incandescent light to shoot that pic. They're black.

That's great news. I will get the Noveske then.

Now I have to research the flash Suppressors. AAC 3 Prong,AAC M4-2000 3 Prong, A2 birdcage, Smith Vortex, or SureFire FH556K. I didn't see a link in the FAQ page. Is there one that is favored?

The Vortex will cut the flash signature as well or better than any other I've seen. If that matters to you.

Thanks for all the help. I'm going to go with the vortex.
When I go through Novekse's website to place an order it asks for a mailing address. Is that the FFL address or mines?

Depends on whether or not you're ordering a complete rifle or just the upper. There are instructions on his website (somewhere, I can't seem to find 'em), but I'm pretty sure I read that you must enter your FFL's address.
I'd just pick up the phone and give him a call, or shoot him an E-mail. They'll be glad to help ya.

On a related note, does anyone know which AAC flash hider Noveske uses?

Call them on Monday. That way they can let you know what the lead time is and get it ordered just the way you want it.
If you get REAL lucky, Sheri will answer the phone. :D

I will call them tomorrow. My gun club is closed on Mondays, so figure it will be less hassle.

I ordered today, a 4 to 6 week wait time. I didn't get her name that took my order, but she was young and new.

My friend has a hard case he didn't need, selling it for half of what he paid for $20. It's 51" long. About how long is the Noveske 16" light?

I got an estimate notice by email the day after I placed my order, then a shipping notice when the rifle shipped plus a final sales receipt by mail. Nice company, they'll take care of you.

They are great, I special ordered a VTAC upper with the 16" recce barrel. They quoted 4 weeks, I had it in 2 weeks :p

Yes, I got a response from them. All is good. Now I have to find a hard case for it.

Greetings!
New fellow here and just wanted to say nice choice! I too was looking for one of these here AR15-type rifles and was about to purchase the LMT MRP CQB, that is, until the dealer took out the Noveske for comparison. Guess what? I ended up buying the Noveske.N4.Recce instead. No regrets whatsoever! Now as for the "hard case," I've got a Pelican 1700 inbound next week Wednesday.
Enjoy! :)

Here's crappy (grainy on last two) pictures of my Noveske.N4.Recce. Nothing special or "technically tactical" in appearance (I think ;) ) like the ones I see on here, but this is my first flat-top purchase:

That looks nice, I ordered the basic version with the smith vortex flash suppressor. Is that case going to fit? I don't know the total length of my rifle, so I'm going to wait, I think.

Should be at about the same length as the one I have. The Pelican website states that the 1700 is 35.75" interior length.
Here's the length of mine and you can go from there.

But whatever case you decide upon for your Noveske, that's fine too. :D
Enjoy!

CLHC-
Don't know if you are aware of this or not, if so, disregard.
Your LMT front sight is mounted in what would normally be considered to be "backward". Usually the 90 degree angle is forward, with the adjustment pin for the front sight toward the muzzle.
This will give you about 1/2" more sight radius, which really means nothing. And since the front sight is only adjustable for elevation, it doesn't really matter how you mount it.
1 more thing- solid concept with the laser on the 12 rail forward of the front sight, but a SF X300 would be perfect there.
Not saying that you are wrong, just sayin'.

It is much more streamlined now, though.

Now that's the kind of comments/response I'm needing! :o And you would be most correct! ! ! :D I thought something didn't look right for some reason or another. . .
Thank you!
I'll leave the pictures as reference for my error.

Another thing. How does one go about removing the SF.X300? Seems to be "stuck" on there!
Thanks!

You just pull up on the side tabs and pull/push the light forward and it'll come off.
If you use the Universal tab on the X200/300 the LMT front sight will fit much closer to the front sight as it does on mine.

Great looking M4 you've have gotm4!
Trying as I may to do remove the SF.X300 is sure quite a chore. Wondering if there's a "lube" or some sort that'll facilitate quicker removing?
Also in regards to the "Universal tab," is that the one marked "U" right? That's what's on there now, maybe I need to find that "sweet spot" on the rail so that it'll be closer like yours.
Thanks for the tip. Much appreciated! :)
