I am in the process of upgrading my rifles triggers. One of them is an 'old' H-BAR sporter lower that has small pins. A few of the trigger groups I'm looking at specify that they won't fit Colts because they use large pins. I'm fairly certain that this is not my case but want to be sure. Any definitive answers ?

Colt started with normal pins for the fire control group and an oversized pivot pin. Along the way they changed and now that have oversized pins for the fire control group and a normal sized pivot pin.

If you've got an older Colt then it has the older pins then you can use any normal trigger in it.

Why are they using oversized anything?

Thanks Hop: I was pretty sure that was the case. Just wanted to hear it from someone else.

Bryson: They did it in the 90's as a measure to prevent the addition of FA trigger parts to AR's.
