You can find complete 6920's for around $1,200 with a little work.

With the BoTach deal you still need a receiver.

What do you need a receiver for?

It's not like you'll ever get the kit if you order it.

Seems like they're trying to rip people off to me.

Anytime you hear the word Botach, take three steps back and count slowly to one million before you decide to buy.

How are they ripping anyone off? No one is forced to buy it.

You could get a complete 16" LMT Carbine for less than that. I dont think I would spend that kind of money on a incomplete Colt. Guess the park under the FSB and the taper pins dont mean that much to me. Also you would still have to buy a lower reciever, which most likely wouldnt be a Colt.

I wonder what the scoop is on this.

Why would someone pull only the lowers off of 6920s?

Maybe they'll sell the lowers later for about a 1000.00 dollars?

That way if you bought the parts kit you could now have a complete
genuine Colt 6920.

Maybe PT Barnum was right?:D

You are missing the point.

There is a guy in Florida that sells 6520 kits for around 800 dollars. Everything but the lower. I'm tempted to get one and swap the upper out, buzz the FSB and put a rail on. With a demilled FCG. Good shit.

That's a great price.

What am I missing that they are selling very expensive Colt kits,..I got it. That way they can sell the stripped lowers from the 6920s for 400 dollars a piece and make more profit. Thats a great idea LOL.

This is an old trick. I saw it done during the assault weapons ban. You could theoretically take an LE lower that you bought stripped and make the weapon AWB compliance with emasculated parts.

I guess if people are dopey enough to pay more for something dissassembled than they could get it complete..

OK, I'll take the bait and bite on this one. Maybe I'm just slow, but what point is he (and me) missing. I know you know your colts front to back on TOS and this one, so by no means do i want to start "one of those threads", but it seems like this (incomplete 6920's) is just a rip off to the uneducated masses.

Botach is in Kali. I don't have any understanding of the whacked out laws there, but it may be part of the equation. Botach may not even be the folks handling the lowers. They might just be retailing the parts for someone else.

You compared this kit to a LMT. Then brought up FSB issues. That isn't the point.

The point is you can buy a complete 6920 for less than this kit.

I know BK Botach and I gave him a call to get the straight scoop directly from the source for all of you… The Colt LE 6920s he has are left over from a LE purchase program… He is located in California and the receivers of the 6920 are restricted and can not be transferred to private citizens in the State of California, they can only be transferred to sworn law enforcement Officers with a Department Letter… I know this because that is where I purchased mine…

Several people in California have asked him for a Colt 6920 parts kit, all parts less the restricted receiver, and he simply offered the public what they had asked for… The stripped receivers get donated to a law enforcement agency here in CA as replacement parts just to get them off the books… BK said that he would be happy to sell a complete LE 6920 to anyone legal to posses one in a non restricted state for the same price, just give him a call and state you want the complete rifle and arrange the FFL details…

They're trying to take advantage of people who don't know better. I would classify that as 'trying to rip people off'. You can get a complete rifle cheaper than their kit. The parts kit is worth $900 tops. Just my 2 cents.

Should the Government intervene?

Should the Government intervene?

Considering the past days, this is funny.

Should the Government intervene?

Demi......that was funny

But no seriously, the intervention should be limited to compensation to those negatively affected by the mental process of thinking why someone would offer something so seemingly ridiculous for sale.

Begin thread Hijack......

FWIW, back in May I ordered some of the discontinued Blackwater gear from Botach, up to this point I had never had a problem with them and always got killer stuff for cheap.

Anyway it was mid June and I stil hadn't received anything so I emailed them several times asking about my order and never recieved a response.

I finally called and spoke to some female who was fairly rude when I pressed her on whether or not they even had the stock of Blackwater gear.

She just said she didn't know and couldn't provide me with anything concrete on whether or not I would ever receive what I ordered.

I told her I wanted to cancel my order and was emphatic about receiving a cancellation confirmation via email, which to my suprise she sent.

Anyway sometime in early August the whole order showed up via UPS.

I said WHT? , and knew there was no point trying to return it...have them cover shipping, wait for the card to be credited etc...., so I just kept all the stuff.

Just say no
