There used to be CMT logo lowers around a few years ago. Unfortunately somebody told them these were "special" & "rare" and thus worth double the price of a standard STAG lower. Even though the only difference was the logo.

I tried to buy one from the EE and another from a dealer but was told these were "collectible" and thus worth $500-$550. Let's just say I passed on them for that price.

After reading a bunch of threads, what is the preferred lower. I read about gaps and ridges, and so on. It get confusion as to what is the preferred lower. What is the general felling for Stag. I read that they make them for Noveske?

Thanks,
Mark

Stag/CMT lowers are great, I have assembled two lowers from them and they went together smooth with no problems, The Stag LPKs (even come with extra detents and springs if you lose one) are not bad too, and yes they make Noveske Lowers. Peoples biggest gripe I think with Stag lowers is the Stag head logo. I dont care though I can can get Stag lowers for around $115-$120 in my area.

Many of the local gunshops in KY have them and many others in stock, If you local Gunshop doesnt have them you can have him order them for you. He is going to charge you a transfer fee and taxes so that can add up. You can also find them and many others at gunshows. Here is a link to the stag site http://www.stagarms.com/product_info.php?cPath=18_30&products_id=230

Dinger is correct, there is no difference between the lowers. CMT marked lowers are "rare" for the fact there were few made and there will not be anymore, ever. This might appeal to someone who needs a sample of every rollmark ever made but that's about it.

Even if some aren't in love with Stag uppers or complete rifles, the lowers are as good as any around.
