Mail Order 5.56/.223 ammo, Best price going?

Is there a place that you all recomend for me to go to order 5.56 or .223 ammo for my 1-9 twist M4? I wont order it with my name, but my pal is looking to order 2,000 rounds for himself and another pal wants 1,000 rounds.... so I will jump in and order 2,000 rounds for myself under this other guys name.... that way there is no record of me hording ammo!

ALso, on the same note, who has the best deals currently going on the Magpul AR-15 30 round mags? I would like to get 5-10 more. I purchased 5 with the rifle 2 days ago, but damn it man... if zombies attack, I'm a dead man with a lousy 5 mags. I feel that 10 is a sad condition to be in, but its a heck of a lot better than 5. If there was still the 10 mags for $100 I would order that in a new york second. Cheaper Than Dirt does not to be too cheap in the M4/AR-15 accessories. Thier ammo is out of this gallaxy. I can go buy retail store ammo for less than CTD has it for. WTF...over.....

Also, dumb question... Can I use a .30 cal boresnake for the SKS/AK?

I believe 7.62mm = ~.308, so a .30 cal boresnake will be perfect.

I wouldn't be concerned about there being a record of you "hording" ammo. Many dealers do not keep your info on file. I have about 8K at my house and no one has come knocking, nor do I expect them to.

I would go back to the store where you purchased the other PMAG's and prompty scoop up more rather than trying to buy some online only to be back-ordered.

I believe 7.62mm = ~.308, so a .30 cal boresnake will be perfect.

Western 7.62 uses a .308 sized bullet so the bore should be about that same size.

East Bloc 7.62 is about .311 for bullet size so their bores should be about the same size.

With bore snakes the difference does not matter. The ".30 cal rifle" bore snake will do .308, .30-06, 7.62x39, 7.62x54R, 300 Win Mag, 30 Carbine, .303 British, etc.

On election day I bought 1,000 PRVI 55g 5.56 for $350 including shipping from Widner's. Good ammo at a great price, but I believe that deal is gone now. They still offer the 55g, 62g and 75g PRVI at good prices last time I looked.

The physical location of Widener's is actually 20mi. from my hometown. Tried to stop by this weekend and pick up some ammo, but they have a cheesy cardboard sign on their door written with black marker saying "Store closed, order online"...

Bah! I have been looking forward to stop by the store during TG week for almost a month.

I guess I'll do the same and order online. I've ordered 500 rds of Wolf from AIM surplus since around 11/15 and still haven't heard about them... I think they are way behind.
