I am interested in cutting my 16 in barrel to 14, it is a BCM carbine gas system. Where to get it done? Is it worth the trouble? Does it cause problems with reliability or with the chrome lining?
Just buy a 14.5 and be done with it or go this route? Just thinking about it. Thanks for your opinions.

These guys are great for cutting, rethreading and recrowning.

As for your other questions i am not knowledgeable enough to answer those.

Kind of pointless I think.

Paying to have it chopped down, then paying for the stamp.

Just buy 14.5 in the first place if your going that route.
