View Full Version : need a lefty or ambi hk snap hook sling mount for fixed stock
hey guys i've looked all over and i cant find a left handed or ambi single point sling mount for a fixed stock that is for the HK style snap hook. dose anyone make one? help
I am not entirely sure what you are looking for, but something on this GG&G page should address your needs.

I was looking for some of the same parts a couple months back, and found that my usual parts sources that stocked GG&G either wouldn't stock lefty sling mounts, or wouldn't stock all the lefty mounts. I ended up ordering direct from GG&G to fit all the parts we needed into one order. Well made stuff, it all fit correctly.

Maybe this can help. I just bought a Magpul ASAP plate from here (second one down):

It is ambi and I've heard some good things about it, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Now I just need a lower to mount it to.
already looked at all these. i need key words: LEFT HANDED for FIXED STOCK hk snap hook end plate. i'm not allowed to have a collapsible stock in nj. i dont think anyone makes one, i've looked at 20 brands already
There is a company called GSRC or something like that. It is exactly what you need. They come on Defensive Edge's rifles. I took one off and replaced it with a DD burnsed loop. Yes,it was LH for an A-2. I traded it to a friend. If he doesn't sell it this weekend at the gun show I'll get it back and send it your way.
Found it, try this,

That one is for a carbine, he needs one for an A1/A2 fixed stock.
Hmm. Blue Force Gear makes a Universal Wire Loop (UWL) that may work. I've been thinking about picking one or two up from them to try out various things.
An illustration of using on on a buttstock is on their website at:

Of course, they are out of stock just now.
More illustrations of their uses are at:

But, sometimes I think this is an innovative American way of making the unnecessary. I have seen many photos (and made an informal study) of IDF methods of sling attachment. The IDF love to use paracord for this application. The IDF is famous for doing things "on the cheap"; but, if a method doesn't work, it goes away rather quickly.
For a few of my ARs I do not use any buttstock rear adapter except for about $0.10 worth of paracord, the IDF way: it's a great field expedient and works well for me with a two point sling setup. I'll look around for some pics.
ETA: detail of standard IDF two point sling attachment method (good pic as it shows top and bottom, though grainy)

yea that blue force wire loop catches my eye, that might work on my ak. but other than that i think i'm screwed yet again due to being a southpaw
I guess you did'nt follow my link and scroll down as that product is exactly what you said you wanted. LH, A2, H&K snap hook.

oh my bad
Goodale:
Could you swap out your HK clip for a Mash Hook? If so, you might be able to use the GG&G left hand end plate at:
http://www.gggaz.com/index.php?id=72&parents=38,48
or a similar item. You'd have to check on the dimensions with GG&G.
seb5 thanks, i looked into it further. grsc's site is kinda crappy so i googled it, mannyusa.com has the gsrc rear LEFT handed snap hook mounts, SWEEET! i' gonna get one thanks for the help
Kudos to Goodale and Seb5 for finding that item. I've been all over the GRSC site and had never noticed that. (As a matter of fact, I still can't find an explicit reference to a lefthanded fixed stock rear adapter on their site, even in the price list.)
I'll have to keep MannyUSA in mind.
If it has to do with LH and an AR I have probably tried it, bought it, traded it off, and am using something else. If you need info on LH AR parts I'm probably familiar with them.
