View Full Version : LaRue Tactical
Just want to share a story about LaRue Tactical. I recently contacted them about getting a couple of cats tails for two DDM's that I know. The person I spoke with told me that they were limited distro and weren't generally available. He then asked for a shipping address and told me that they would be in the mail.
I tried to give him my CC info and he said "they aren't for sale". Well today a package showed up with (2) cats tails, a LaRue hat, some Dillo Dust, a magazine, 2 bumper stickers and a small tin of candy. I was stunned. They not only sent me two free cats tails, but threw in the other stuff as well. Plus they paid the shipping. These are some great people!
Can you please translate what a Cat tail is.

A cattail is an extension on the variable ring so it can be moved more readily.

You are correct LaRue is great people! I have had wonderful luck with them myself.
Those guys are great! Everything from the Xmas Dillo to just sending bits a pieces, etc. I find I am funding it one way or another, but feel good about it. Great product, customer service, curstomer care. What a bar to measure against.
Dillon I used to think was as standup as they go for keeping the customer running and happy. Tend to put Dillon and LaRue on the same level.
Plus the "God bless our troops...especially the snipers" bumber sticker on the back of my Jeep just brings out a tears for me ;)
Now translate what a DDM is for us ingnr'nts. :)

Larue Tactical + Free Swag = Shooter's Heaven
LT is great about helping our troops out with whatever they can. Their CS is second to none and the Dillo Dust is good on just about anything!
Since I'm almost out of my last bottle of Dillo Dust it looks like it's time to order more LT kit.

LaRue is great. My bank was giving them grief. We did not realize it right away. I thought maybe my university did something stupid to my account because it has happened before. I finally check all my bases and tell them it should be fine. I finally called the bank. Turned out they were being dumb. Anyway, LaRue put up with it when others wouldn't have. I order many things through them like magazines when I want some more just because I like the company.

What's not to like about Larue Tactical?
Unparalleled product.
Fast order turnaround.
Very friendly and attentive service.
As patriotic as one could ever be.
Dillo dust, tactical beverage entry tools, ballcaps galore, SPR porn and bumper stickers that tick off leftists. :p

LaRue is a great outfit. Top notch stuff and quick shipping. I went to a hobby store and bought a roll of magnetic sheet and cut to fit the bumper stickers - I can now move them car to car and make sure I always have one on to mess with the left.
What is the origin of DDM designation - is this a Mil or Leo designation? What happened to DSM (Designated Squad Marksman) designation?

Even more impressive than this example, is all the things ML does below the radar that no one will ever know.
The State Dept. refers to their "snipers" as DDM's as they are supposed to be acting in a "defensive" capacity. I believe another term used is Squad Designated Marksman (Army).

I called Larue one time on a Saturday since I forgot what day it was. Those that work out of the country understand this completely. Anyway, I was calling to redeem a gift certificate for a Stealth Upper I bought. Mark answers the phone, "machine shop on a Saturday, this is Mark". I said "sorry Mark, I'm overseas and forgot what day it was". He then says, well you're different, what can I do for you? I told him about the gift certificate and that I wanted to redeem it for my upper. He told me no problem, email me describing which one you want and I'll be sure to get it out on Monday. He shipped the upper out on Monday as promised which was before I even got the gift certificate in the mail and also sent me plenty of free Larue schwag. There are no better people to do business with than Mark and his staff.

Larue demonstrates the level of customer service that all companies should aspire to.

The word from yesterday is that there will be a lot of DDMs on unemployment in Baghdad now. Looks like that job is not needed in the short term... which is August I believe. I guess State doesn't feel the need for DDM or CAT teams now....
Cody and LaRue rock... Their service is excellent and turnaround time is always fast.... Now if they could just get my OSR built.:D
I bet they have stock piles of schwag in their warehouse. It's nice though to buy something from a company and get all kinds of free stuff. $10 Dillo, $20 Hat, Possibly $5 Dillo Dust, Stickers that are probably like $5....All for free....:D
i have gotten some shit-ass customer service from larue before- two occasions i called to place orders, and because of the dead-tone condescending impatient voice on the other end, opted to NOT place the order.
last couple of times, however, i've gotten the same guy.. cant remember his name, but he's great- real friendly, knows their product, etc. and their products rock (which would be why i came back even after shity CS).
+1 for larue.. hopefully that one dude doesn't even work there anymore.
I have friends over on that particular program and they haven't said anything. I know that there was going to be some consolidation going on. I was unaware that CATT was going away. I'll have to ask about that.

They are great at throwing all those extra items with your order. I have a lot of hats, stickers and Dillos. Oh, I forgot about the paint mixer and Dillo dust. Mark and staffs, keep up the great service!
I wondered what the " lever" on the Luepy in the OSR flyer was called.

Mine is from AMU shooter Daniel Horner, he no longer sales them but a few companies do.
Two of these companies are R and R Racing.com http://www.randrracingonline.com/ and Charles Drissel of the BrianEnos Forums http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showforum=194
I think Mark's personal beef with AAC makes him look like a complete douche-bag and I think less of the man as a result.
With that said, I've also seen the $12,000 check he stroked to CalGuns to fight BS gun control laws, along with a pledge for $1,000 a month to follow.
I've also ordered from him and gotten great service, some nice swag, and some fine products in the exchange.
I guess at the end of the day I can grudgingly respect a man who has the courage to be a complete asshole about some position he takes, no matter who agrees with him or not (even if I don't). And he makes some really nice stuff and also takes care of our boys. As a fellow asshole, I can respect that. :D
I just wish he'd let the whole AAC thing go. They make some damn nice silencers and it would be nice for him to acknowledge a fellow craftsman. I only buy the best and all my AR silencers are AAC. LaRue is represented on those same rifles, and the unfinished ones are likely to sport his products as well.
