View Full Version : I'm looking for a specific Eagle pistol mag/M4 mag pouch and not having any luck
This pouch looks perfect for me. Trouble is I can't find one compatable with GLOCK mags. Multicam would be even better. I checked Triad, and the Eagle website and OPTACTICAL.com. I suspect they have been discontinued.

I saw that one. There's no guarentee that I can stuff Glock or HK mags in the pouch though. I unfortunately do not own a single stack 45 and am issued a G22.
These don't hold two secondary mags, and have bungee retention instead of kydex, etc. I like the TAG, but the other products are great, too.

I tried the triple version of this one. While it rode well and was obviously well-made, I found the thick shock cord that retains the AR mags to be way too tight. Turned my draw into a soup sandwich, because I either had to wrestle with the over-tight bungees, or the nylon-only pull tab was too slick for that level of tension and my fingers would slip off.
I'd have replaced that shock cord with something thinner, but the stuff is sewn into the body of the pouches on the back side, so you can't just untie the stuff and swap it out. Another aspect that I didn't like.
I could've sworn that somebody made else made a pouch like the Eagle one, only maybe without the kydex...

Sadly, it's out of stock. I've e-mailed back and forth with Steve from Triad today and he advised that they were discontinued and he had a few for a single stack mag available.
Whatever I get, it will be attached to this chest rig I bought from a fellow member at a class after he saw me struggleing to use a South African Pattern 83 vest. THANKS CHRIS!

i have the same chest rig, if you are just wanting a pistol mag pouch, i have a G19 and use these mag pouches, http://triadtactical.com/?mainURL=/store/category/a34i/Weapon_Cases_Bags.html hope that helps.
Couldn't you just attach one of these (http://triadtactical.com/?mainURL=%2Fstore%2Fitem%2F2rycb%2FPistol_Mag_Pouch%2FEagle_MLCS_G17_22_FB_Double_Mag_Pouch_Multicam.html%3Fitem_id%3D2rycb) to the front of the fixed AR mag pouches?

I want to try these (http://www.icetactical.com/pouch-m4doublequick.html) (ICE M4 single, double pistol) out, they seem like a decent company though I have never used them.
F2S I just noticed the other day that ICE was doing the kydex insert thing. I'm interested in trying them out as well. They're smart too and offering them in configurations Eagle isn't.

I've been using one of the ICE dual M4 pouches on my first line for about a month and it's been working pretty well. I liked the fact tfat I didn't have any tightness issues when running PMAGs with them.
How about something like this?

Anyone use the above ICE pouches in the sandbox yet? I'd like to hear what you think.
For the OP- I feel your pain. I've stopped looking for that unit from Eagle.
I am happy to see that another outfit is offering this sot of setup, though. Does anybody with the ICE kit want to go on record about service and/or turn time for their order..?

Hey guys,
Thank you all for the help!
Has anyone out there tried these from TAG?
No Kydex, mags are held in with magnets.

I use a 3-mag Tactical Tailor version. Difference is that it has cover flaps that can be velcroed over the mags for extra security or out of the way for access.
So far, I like it a lot, having bounced myself off of all kinds of stuff without managing to get a full magazine to slip out of the pouch, and have never used the flaps. You can even slap a 4th empty mag onto the magnets from outside temporarily if you need to use both hands for something, though a full mag will fall right off.
Wouldn't recommend using that type of pouch if you have any intent to do any basic land nav with a compass. Took me a while to figure out that it was my own damned fault that my compass was all cattywhumpus.

As far as pistol mags go there is nothing better for MOLLE/PALS than the Eagle FB, in my opinon, colored by my use. They take a little while to get broken in, but after that I am completely satisfied with them. I have been using various pistol versions of them for about 4 years now.
The only little knock against them is that a double takes up 3 MOLLE/PALS columns, however, it is necessary to get enough distance between the mags for a smooth draw- so not really a knock, simply a consideration for pouch layout.

Thanks for the tip!
