What are the best AR15 mag pouches? And by the way, what is the Chest Rig of Choice ? I was looking at the Blade Techs' Mag pouches, any feedback on that mag pouch (for the hip)?

Popular chest rigs include, T.T. MAV, SO TECH Hellcat Mark 1 or 2, Eagle, SKD, etc.

What will you be using this gear for ?

IraqNinja, did bladetech stand behind them, or did you even bother?
Both items will be used for self drills and classes. I am not LEO, personal use.

The pouches were given to me for testing on a leg rig. I never thought about returning them, since it is so hard to deal with such things over here. Our mail is very slow at my location.

Keep in mind that I said I busted their low end injection molded mag carrier. Their real kydex pouches are much better.

There are probably dozens of threads here on both chest rigs AND belt-mounted magazine pouches. here is what is working for me (http://tacticalyellowvisor.net/8343/56227.html).

Best mag pouches for what? Reloads? Retention? Belt mounted? MOLLE/PALS mounted? Single Mag? Double Mag? Triple Mag? Do you need to stack anything over the mag pouches? Do you have a preference for Kydex? Nylon? Leather? Nylon with a kydex insert?

What do you want the chest rig to do for you?

Why do you want hip mounted mags? Do you operate in armor that precludes use of belt pouches?

For classes and drills, I've never found that I needed anything more than The Wilderness single mag pouch. It velcro straps on without taking your belt off, and they're in AZ.
