View Full Version : New Bridge @ Hoover Dam Pictures
I drive over the Hoover Dam quite frequently and thought I'd shoot a couple quick pictures with my phone the other day. It's a camera phone and I'm driving so don't be too critical of the shots. Hope you enjoy what I thought was an awesome engineering and construction job.

Great pictures. Must be a beautiful drive.
Very cool.
You're one of "those" drivers aren't you. :D :p
Only at that time, 15 mph speed limit over the dam and construction area. Usually I'm running the Valentine 1 and trying to avoid your buddies ;) :D
Meh, I'm one of "those" drivers admittedly. I'll rubber neck the crap out of interesting stuff.
Valentine 1: I had one of those things. Saved my ass a few times with FHP who were in constant on mode. Doesn't do shit if you get "shot" though. The suction cups didn't hold well enough and it kept falling to the dash eventually damaging it. :(
Lastly, don't hate. :D :p
I'm not hating, just teasing :p Due to my travels my V-1 has paid for itself numerous times over ;)
Its come along way in the last six mouths. We were working in Vegas and had to go see the Dam. Awesome place:D
Do you know what the projected completion date is? I would really like to get to Bouse,AZ via LHC with my PU,travel trailer, and ATV without going through CA. Travel thru LV on I-15 is another nightmare.
Hoover Dam is a cool place to visit, if you don't melt before you get there! (It's a little hot right now) Once in a while you may see a Desert Bighorn Sheep right off the road. Better yet, go to Boulder City and you'll see a bunch at the park or the golf course.
Cool pics. I plan on visiting Hoover Dam when I am in Vegas later this year.
Sweet....I drove by on my way to Vegas after Leaving Zion National Park (hiked the Zion Narrows) last month...My camera went tits up right at the end of my hike and other than a couple places at the end of the Narrows, this was the only thing I was really disappointed about not having my camera for.
ETA:
Just like the pictures of the Narrows that I took. These pictures are very cool, but don't really do justice to what you actually see in person.
Seems like that project is taking F-O-R-E-V-E-R, I was out there two years ago and it was only a little less finished than it is now.
I think the Japanese built the longest suspension bridge in the world in two years. Ok, it was ten years, but still....http://www.tfhrc.gov/pubrds/julaug98/worlds.htm
I haven't been to Hoover Dam for about five years. Now I will have an excuse to go back and maybe go to Las Vegas. :D
