View Full Version : Anti-Fog
I have never had a problem with it before when I have shot some classes or USPSA matches. However, while wearing eye pro for a PT/Range session my glasses really fogged up. How do all of you combat this? Any sprays or drops that you guys know to work well?
Thanks

I use this stuff called Cat Crap (http://www.ems.com/catalog/product_detail_square.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442583975&emssrcid=GoogleBase). It's a lenses cleaner and anti-fog.
There are a couple home remedies that work such as shaving cream and toothpaste but in the end all of those things wear off.
What you can also try is this:
www.fogtech.com
That stuff works REALLY well but again, its a chemical and it will wear off over time.

I have been pretty pleased with \"Cat Crap\" in the past. Lately, I just rub some dish soap on the lenses and then buff it clear. It seems to work pretty well.

Never had a problem with my Oakley Half Jackets. Well ventilated around the lenses; got mine from SI

Another mostly satisfied user of Cat Crap.
Make sure you have a decent gap between the lenses and yor face, approx 1 cm.

Toothpaste and wiping the foggy area with a fresh, not used plug of chewing tobacco.

Try 15% humidity. I used to fog glasses faster than a highschool kid on a first date when I lived in Ohio, lot less problems in Colorado.
I like my Rudy's with the adjustable nose piece, helps to get just that little more airflow going with out getting unsafe. On cool, damp mornings I used to put my glasses in my arm pit during safes to keep them warm, cool glasses fog faster it seemed to me.
Seems that this Cat Crap is available from REI. Will have to give this product a try myself.

Baby Shampoo.
Apply and rinse all but a little film.

I gotta say fogtech is a real winner for me. I use it on my glasses and all of my high end optics (Night Vision Devices) included. Big plus is it is easy to apply.

I like the moving to Colorado solution.....
While I don't remember the name of it off hand...when I got my "C" card for Scuba Diving there was a product that we used to keep our masks clear that I also used on my eye glasses. Just keep in mind that you don't want to use anything that has ammonia in it as it will degrade any optical coatings that you might have on your glasses.
If you go the home solution route...try Baby Shampoo...take the tiniest drop and rub it onto the lense and allowi t to dry...Buff with a soft lint free cotton cloth. The reason for Baby Shampoo is that you want a soap that has no conditioner in it.
BTW- I just checked my Dive bag and found a bottle of Anti-Fog drops called (Sea Drops)
