I'd like to get a little work done to my 1980s Hi-Power.

I'm not looking for a full-house custom job. I need the slide cut for new sights, C&S hammer/sear fitted, ambi-safety fitted, and that's it. I have all the parts already.

Ideally I could find someone with a quick turn around time (yeah, I know).

Any suggestions?

I have had would done by Wayne Novak and Richard Fletcher. You may have a quicker turnaround with Richard.

You'd be well served by Karl Sokol as well

Another vote for Novak's. They did the work on two of my Para's and it was top-notch. I hope to get a BHP one day to send their way.

Another shop is LST, the owner Dustin Bonar, worked for Novak. Last year he opened his own shop. 304-375-2224

Interesting! His late brother Joe (may he RIP) did the work on my P14.

I thought Joe was Dustin's dad? Joe did some great work at Novak's before his passing. I didn't know Dustin started his own shop.

That is possible. I'm not positive on the relation.

Bill Laughridge at Cylinder & Slide is fair to middlin' on these. He worked one I had up satisfactorily. The others are al good too. I suspect they all have a quicker turn around during this economic slowdown.

Joe was Dustins dad and is sorely missed as a shooter and all around hell of a guy. Dustin is as good as his dad . In the future I paln on having a gun built by him.

Another vote for Jim. I have a friend whose Hi Power was worked over by a well-known gunsmith. The gun had problems that "couldn't" be solved. Jim had it running 100% in less than 15 minutes.
