Is it true that pinning/welding a Surefire flash hider will void the warranty of all Surefire cans used on it? Is that the case with other flash hiders that function with cans (like AAC and YHM)? Just curious because I would like to get at 14.5 and a pinned flash hider but if I cannot get a can in the future because the warranty will be voided it might change my decision. Thanks.

I have not, but I will check it out. Isn't the FSC556 compatible with Gemtech or do they make a model that works with a can?

I believe that it does, but you might want to contact SF directly and double check.

So, I e-mailed Surefire and this is what I received from them:

Dear Sir,
Any modifications will void warranty. This is because if the adapter is pin/welded wrong, it will cause issues with the suppressor. However, it can be done properly if the gunsmith knows what they are doing. Thank you for inquiring with us.

anyone else a little confused? I mean I get where they say it voids it, but then the guy says it can be done properly is the gunsmith knows what they are doing. I guess I just won't get it done and just get a SBR so I don't have to worry...lol
