Is it fact that the Hammer Forged bbls are lighter in weight, than a standard CL'd bbl of the exact size/dimensions?
It sure feels like the CHF'd bbls are considerably lighter than standard CL'd bbls to me, however, it may just be that all the CHF'd bbls I've owned/operated, are just of a lighter profile/size.
??

Obviously, the FN SCAR has just about got THE SMALLEST dia of any carbine bbl I've ever owned, and the KAC SR15 E3 uppers have a fairly thin .654" (I think)profile too (although not nearly as thin as the SCAR's .565" dia bbl).
Noveske N4 bbls are fairly thin too I think, although I have not owned one, nor measured one.
Are CHF'd bbls lighter in weight for the same equal CL'd size bbl, or are they just all lighter in weight, due to their smaller diameters used these days??
Anyone got their hands on a BCM BFH Midlength upper and compared it to the standard CL'd BCM Midlength yet? Are they of the same profile, or is there a difference in diameter/profile???
