Guys i'm having writers block. I need some help with definitions. The definitions will be published, so as professional sounding, but as descriptive as possible
first line
second line
third line
I know what they are, i'm just having a hard time wording it like i want it. any help would be greatly appreciated
You have to understand that there can be a thousand different definitions for this. This is how I set up my team.
First Line- This would be what gear you have on you, pockets and so forth, survival kit, pens, paper and so forth. It also a duty belt, belt with pistol mags, med kit, knife, and what ever little items you want on your belt. Some people carry a few rifle mags on there first line gear, it is personal preference. Sub-loads (drop leg holsters and pouches on your non-dominant side) are also on your First Line. If you are running body armor without pouches on it and were a chest rig then I consider your armor a first line item.
First Line Gear is the gear you keep on you all of the time.
Second Line- This is your chest rig, body armor (with pouches on it), or Plate Carrier. This is were the vast majority of your ammo and mags are going to be located. If you are wearing a Camelbak (even if it is not attached to your gear) I consider it a part of your 2nd line gear.
Second Line Gear you might take off but it is near you all of the time.
Third Line- Your third line is going to be an Assault pack or a ruck. This is not something you always have next to you and so forth. Large amounts of ammo (most of the time not in mags, food, water, cloths, and so forth.
Third Line Gear is your resupply gear and might be left in the truck but it is not too far away.
I hope this helps.
