My Blackhawk mag pouch just went tit's up during Qualifications. The snap broke on one and the plastic thingy the snap is on tore. Ok guys, what's a good nylon mag pouch to buy. I wear it horizontal strong side. I called Blackhawk and they honored their warranty. So I got to send it in before I get it replaced. I appreciate any advice

What kind of mags? I've always liked the Biachi AccuMold Triple Threat pouches. Just be sure to loctite the retention screw.

We went to the Blackhawk nylon for duty years about three years ago. Although I haven't had any issues with mine I find that the Bianchi Accumold nylon we had run in the past was a bit more robust. It looks enough like the Blackhawk that you can mix it on you duty belt without it looking odd. The Safariland nylon is good stuff too. Good luck, stay safe.

I use a HK P2000 .40 cal. I might have to try out those Biachi AccuMold Triple Threat pouches. Thanks for the advice.

Safariland all the way.

I've been using the open top Accumold pouches for years, good solid stuff.

Although, if I were Emperor of the Known Universe, I would ban horizontal mag pouches.

The Accumold stuff is still good even if you use the flap style pouches.

Little known fact, Safariland and Bianchi are now the same people. I've been to the factory, it's all made under the same roof in Ontario CA.

Why so down on horizontal pouches? I wore two (four mags) on the front of my duty belt for years.

They slow down your reloads.

Look at anybody who shoots pistols realy fast for money, note that none of them are carrying mags horizontally on the gun side.

I never heard of horizontal carry until I was in BP. Had to use that setup in the academy but switched to vertical once I was at my duty station. I hate flaps and find the Accumold open top pouches damn near perfect and they do allow horizontal carry if that's your thing.

There were some Safariland Nylok mag pouches listed on the Galls website in their big clearance push. They were $5 or so.

I prefer open top, vertical pouches. They are faster, unobstructed, and offer more positive holds on magazines.

That being said, horizontal pouches are not without utility.

I tried the vertical/weak side mag pouch placement but my muscle memory is with the vertical/strong side.(the force is strong):) If the open top pouches can be carried horizontally, I am willing to try it. If I go with the vertical, I would have to undo seven years of muscle memory though.
