View Full Version : Which AR do you use the most?

I know several members here own multiple AR platform's. I'm just curious as to which one you use the most. Pictures and specs are more than welcome. Gives all of the newer members a chance to see tactical/training rifle.
The AR I use most is my S&W M&P15 5.45x39 ammo is cheap & it shoots just as good as my tactical AR15 out to 150yds (that is the longest range I have to shoot)

I'm looking into getting a 5.45 S&W AR also after I get my Colt.
I only have one so it gets plenty of use!
Standard m4 clone.

That's a wild caliber. What conversions do you need?
5.45 here as well. Just the upper.
Used it for everything from carbine classes to 600 yard matches.

The one I shoot the most is a Bushmaster.... Dont flame me too hard, its a city issue gun, so usually the ammo is free too...But my personal ones are a few Colts, and a beater POS Olympic Arms I bought back in the late 80's.

Nothing wrong with a Bushy. They make some good rifles.

Hard to say...the one I drag around the most is my varmint rifle which is a Armalite 20" M15A4 SPR on a LMT Defender SOPMOD lower.
My all time favorite rifle is my LMT Defender 16" that I simply abuse as often as possible.

I use to love my Bushmaster.......their Varminter model with 24" barrel, light use gun. It does it's job nicely at a distance. My go to gun now is my BCM midlength. It is accurate, never complains and keeps on shooting no matter what I may put it through.
It is funny, I have put about 250 rounds through the Bushmaster in 4 years, and I have now put 350 rounds through the BCM in 2 months. We have a winner!
RRA mid-length carbine w/detachable carry handle. Dead on accuracy and reliable to boot. I have been to two carbine classes with the rifle and she still shoots my 64 gr PP self-defense handloads at 1 MOA or better.

LMT Defender M4gery. I've had it for years, shot thousands of rounds through it and I have never had a single problem with it.
My most used is an issued Colt M4A1. I swap uppers depending. Finally decided to go with my own upper set up soon.

This SBR uses a TKS Engineering receiver that I assembled and painted myself. The lower has about 10,000-rounds use but this upper is relatively new.
I previously had an LWRC M6A1 10.5" upper that now lives on my F/A SP1. This upper is an M6A3 12.7" upper which currently have about 1,200-rounds through it so far.
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w169/CarlosDJackal/DSCN3666.jpg
The light weight has been my favorite for a few years now but I recently sold the Aimpoint and added another 1.5-5 Leupold on this LMT upper and have been trying to use both.

Nice group for a 10-15mph wind.
My 16" BCM upper with a DD Omega rail on a RRA lower with a 2 stage trigger and a ACOG TA-33 in a Larue mount is my #1 gun.
I also run my RRA 16"upper on a doublestar lower with an M3 aimpoint in a Larue mount a fair amount.
The RRA lower on the BCM came off of this gun because the BCM upper seemed to have a better fit on the RRA lower than the Doublestar.
But, catching up quick is my RRA 9mm upper on a doublestar lower with the vm-hytech mag block for unmodified uzi mags. bocefus on the uzi forums is selling great uzi mags for cheap and I can't help but waste ammo in this thing. I am liking it so much I am thinking about moving the aimpoint to the pistol carbine.

I use my Colt 6920 the most. Its bone stock except wears a VCAS sling. I feed it with P-mags. However, my Sun Devil lower with a BCM middy with BCM BCG is quickly catching up. It wears standard handguards, a VCAS sling, Aimpoint M2, DD A1.5 rear sight, Magpul MIAD, enahnced trigger-guard, and MOE stock. I'll soon be replacing the handguards with an Omega rail and adding a G2 when I get around to it.

POF-415: Mainly because I've made some serious upgrades, following my time spent with The Katar about the subject. With a new buffer, spring, BCM bolt upgrade, optic, and now trigger, I want to make sure my piston rilfe - which I bought simply because I wanted to try one - IS GTG. I don't worry as much about my M&P15T being GTG, but a new optic there, means more range time in it's near future, too!

I'm also amazed at the amount of rounds you guys shoot. I can't build, and shoot at the same time. I am able to shoot a couple of thousand rounds a year, but that's my counter sniper rifles, and my issued patrol rifle.

I absolutely love this carbine! I haven't even had it a month yet and I've already got 1,700 trouble-free rounds fired through it!! (most of those were from a carbine course, but still...)
On a side note, I really like the direction the pics are going in this thread, i.e. pics showing the rifles' owners actually using and abusing them! It's some good shit!

Thanks.
With the flash hider and iron sights I paid 3000€. That's nearly the same amount it would have cost me if I had bought another company's DI AR and adding a decent quad rail handguard, collapsible stock and BUIS. Quality of the MR is very good, the trigger is not bad for an AR but could be better considering the price. Precision is absolutely amazing. Eats every kind of ammo, even with shitty Wolf the precision is still good, with a suppressor it is also good to go. I never had a stoppage with 3000+ rounds. Only thing that needs getting used to is the weight, heavy as hell compared to other ARs.
We do not have a big choice of AR's anyhow, Sabre Defence and Oberlandarms is about it, sometimes you can find a Dlask.
Of all my guns I'd say my SR-15 has gotten the most use, as it's now approaching a round count in the 6K range and it's still one of the best shooting experiences I've had. Total tack driver out at 300-400m, and superbly controllable up close.
I love it's little bro that I've put together, and I'm sure when it's convenient I'll use the SBR just as much, but for now the SR-15 is king:

RetreatHell, nice blaster. How do you like the Oakley gloves ?
I really like them for the most part, although I could do without the carbon fiber strike plate on the knuckles (not sure if that's what it's actually called), as I don't really think it's all that necessary for most users. It would be really nice if they offered the exact same gloves without it.
But I paid $85 for them, so you can bet your ass they will be used until they fall apart:D After they do wear out, I probably will not be buying another pair of them, but who knows...
This is the closest up pic I have showing the Oakley gloves in action, and unfortunately it doesn't show the entire glove (sorry about that), but you can really see the carbon fiber plate here. They also don't breath too well, notice the sweat coming through them. I wasn't wearing the gloves that long yet at the point this pic was taken:

AFAIK "Magpul" ladders are really just Ergos.
That is interesting to know. The Ergos sell for about half of the Magpul Ladder rails. I found that the Magpul ones fit better and were easier to pu on. Now I am thinking the Ergo ones I have may just be out of spec (too narrow)?
