I'm currently in the process of putting together a first line belt. I am pretty sure I'm going to go with a TT duty belt and beltpad, as I am used to a duty rig configuration, and like the feel. I had a couple questions that aren't readily available to me (or I may be too tired to see!)

1) The TT belt pad only covers the "inside" portion of the TT belt, which I like. Does this pad interface with a hook type inner belt? How does it stay secure?
I plan on running suspenders, as my load out will be a little heavy, and I've always had trouble just keeping a duty rig set up, (handcuffs x2, OC, ASP, Sig226 in Blackhawk level III serpa, Ht, 2 mags) and would like to know that the belt pad has some sort of support interface with an inner belt. If not, I can find a tailor to sew some loop liner in, I guess.

2) I am having a hell of a time finding M16 mag pouches that just slide on a belt. I don't need MOLLE/Pals/Malice/Strike etc. I just want a good, secure slide-on pouch. If I could find one that held three mags (not stacked...) I would be in heaven. In the same regard, I lost in my move a double pistol mag holder, with rigid inserts, that had velcro interface straps that worked on a duty belt. It featured velcro straps that could cover the mag, or be tucked away securely. I loved this mag holder, and miss it dearly! I want to say it was made by Blackhawk, but I can't find it.

Basically, the belt will consist of: AR mags x3, pistol mags x2/3, and probably my SERPA holster, as it's reliable and I already own it. Multi tool/knife in a single mag pouch, and a cell phone holder. I don't think I need a dump pouch, but it's an option I'm not afraid to explore.

I will be using tis for classes and range time only. I am not a HSLD type guy, just a civvie who likes guns and good, quality equipment.

Eagle Industries still makes some duty belt type items. I saw a double mag pouch (stacked) that might work for you, and some triple pistol mag pouches.
Give them a shot. www.eagleindustries.com

You can usually just weave the MOLLE straps through the pouch itself to accommodate mounting to a belt. This is what I've done in the past, before I knew MOLLE belt interfaces existed.

YMMV.

ITW has the Fast mag pouch that slides on a belt. I've never used one but militarymorons.com did a good review.

I run the FastMags on both a duty belt and my armor. I love them, very fast to draw from.
