View Full Version : Chin Strap/Harness, Which one?
I'm looking to upgrade the Issue Chin strap on my MICH/ACH helmet. I've been looking at the Ops-Core model, they have two types, X harness and an H harness style. any thoughts or opinions on which is best or other makes that are good to go.

The H style is better for military applications using head-mounted NODs.

H is the way to go. If you are issued a NAPES, I am not sure the X style would work on it.
Looks like the "H" may be the way to go, are there any better Manufacturers than Ops-core, or others that are preffered.

If there is a strap better than the Ops-Core, I haven't heard of it. What makes it so good to me is how easy the straps can be adjusted and stay where you want them.
Thanks Iraq Ninja, Thats the kind if info I was looking for, Looks like Ops-core is the way to go.

Iraq Ninja is spot on with the Ops Core. The adjustment combined with the redsigned geometry is the cats MEOW! there really isn't anything else even close.

been looking for a chin strap cutaway for skysystem nvertigo x but canny find such thing just wondering if there is such a thing or could you retro fit one from another manufacture?? cheers
Ops-Core H harness all the way. Been using mine for over 6 months with excellent results. It's head and shoulders above the issue chin-strap. My helmet barely moves when it's tightened down, even with NODs. The one-handed adjustment is also a huge improvement over the issue strap. I've used mine in Airborne Ops and it is solid in that aspect as well.

I prefer the X Nape if you are planning on wearing NODs for an extended period of time, and are not running a nape protector. The X Nape secures further down the back of the head. This allows it to pull straighter at the front of the helmet, which if you know anyone that has weight on the front of their helmet is a good thing. It is also a few dollars less which doesn't hurt.
