View Full Version : Aimpoint T1 New Quandary?

My quandary... when I am doing room clearing with the T1 any point light source in front of or over me (no matter how diffused) causes the 3 RED BARS (middle one slightly offset) to appear like a 2 Pronged Fork with the dot inbetween the 2 tines. The camera makes it look small but visually it is from edge to edge all the way across the tube diameter and completely obscures target and distracts the eyes. Looking at an aiming point 20' away the ghost reflection looks like a fullsize red Milpark turned to a 45 deg angle floating over your target. Is this normal?

I tested my M2 in every situation side by side with the T1 and the M2 had no floating red reflection at all.

It is reflecting off of some mirrored surface in front of the diode projection tube (if thats what you call it;)) and on the M2 this is located at "upper" right (light can't get to it even from below...I tried) and the T1 has this diode projection tube with mirrored thing in the "lower" right. I can't see any design reason why this should be in the lower part of the tube:confused:

I have not tested it against a low sun or any day or night point light sources yet.

I expected this to be my Go To for indoor work:(

If this is normal I guess I can use it as an occluded sight indoors or try a custom sunshade or cap:confused:

Or do I just buy an M4s?:(

The ghost reflection looks tiny to the camera, but with both eyes open and seeing it floating out superimposed over your target it is huge!

This point light source (left window) is very diffused & still...
