anybody have one or know if they work?

I have the Desert Eagle already...not sure if a longer barrel would get any more power anyway out of that round.

Also for the 458 SOCOM whats the greatest muzzle energy it can produce?

A 458 Socom is in a totally different class of goodness then a 50AE.

You have a lot of options in loading and bullets for a large variety of terminal effects whether it be hunting or plinking. 600 Grain solids running subsonic to ~400 to ~500 grain hunting rounds. The 458 Socom has a lot of thump in it. ;)
