Best Zero?

What's the best Zero for the 308 cartridge with a 16 inch barrel. Iron sights and red dot is what I got.

I don't know what the best is, but a 100 yd zero suits me.

As long as I'm hitting 1"-2" high at 100y I'm fairly confident out to 300-400y.

As for sighting in a .308 AR, I don't have any specifics for you. Sorry.

A lot of us know that 50Yds. with 55gn FMJ in a 5.56 AR is pretty dog gone close at 200yds.

Col. Jeff Cooper (may he rest in peace) always advocated that sighting in a .308 at 200 yds. is ideal because you will get a torso hit all the way TO 300 yds., and to hit at 400 yds, you would hold the horizontal line with the shoulder, and you would receive a torso hit.

As many of you are aware, Jeff didn't think most foks could shoot much better than 300 yds., and shouldn't attempt a 400 yd. shot.
