We had another Advanced Sniper class roll through and we thought you'd be intrested in some of the class events for the week. The class is long and some actually take basic and advanced back ot back. The classes flow together well. Basic involves the initial skill sets of the sniper (some scouting and unknown range work). Advanced applies the skills with longer ranges and more difficult unknown range problems. We introduce more scouting problems as well as stalking in rural and urban environments. There's more of an emphasis on feild craft, team organization and accurate scouting with a scenarios that are military and law enforcement based. Most folks who roll through this aren't M4C members, so I thought I'd give a snapshot of what we do. I will hopefully continue this practice with some of our other classes. Thanks for looking and your support of USTC/ Blackwater.

Unknown distace range. Use of the spotter is critical, especially when engaging paper targets. This judges the spotters ability to make accurate calls as well as the shooters consistency behind the weapon

Rural stalk. After the sniper is in position (and the counter sniper is clear) a live fire shot is made on a small plate. The snipers hide, range estimation and position have to be spot on for a hit.

Urban staking scenario. This is one of the scenario based evolutions where snipers have to use cqb to find their positions quietly. They work as a team to accomplish the mission. There are role players that are attempting to locate their positions prior to the shot. Students find this to be very beneficial in many ways. Its a good test of gear, patience, team work, stealth and a good stable platform for a long range shot. We do some prone shooting, but a lot of time is dedicated to positions other than prone. We have had nothing but good feedback from our Military and Law Enforcement customers.
Thanks Tom, we appreciate your input here.
I certainly recognize range 8.
