Please stop posting this pic, my credit card starts crawling out of my wallet all by itself everytime that pic is on my screen.
Frank,
Any chance you could do a build with a light weight barrel and a DD or LaRue fore end?
Thanks,
Mike
I might as well try to set up some sort of direct deposit with you guys.

Feank,
A couple of my friends (Retired & Active Military) got talking about Gas Piston AR's. Between the six of us we were able to find other AR shooters, and three those had different system's, an old Rhino, an L-W, and your POF System. We all came to the conclusion that your POF Gas Piston System is the best overall choice.
First Ease of maintaince (cleaning), with outstanding able to get to
all of the system's piece's for maintaince.
Secondly The POF System is very, very rugged, and definitly not fragle.
Thirdly Repair/Replacement parts availability.
Fourth Overall Cost.
The L-W system will add on around $600 to your exsisting upper.
The Rhino system went out of production sometime around 1986-88,
with no replacement parts available at all.
There is one feature the Rhino system does have that's very neat, the ability to adjust the cyclic rate, all the way down to Single shot, then to cycle about 400rpm on the low end of the scale, and all the way up to about 1100-1200 rpm. This is done by screwing in or out the Gas Cyclinder volumn adjustment screw. The gentleman that has the Rhino unit has used aircraft grade lockwire to keep that adjustment screw in on spot, and not to wiggle or work it's way loose.
And now I here you have a 7.62X51 NATO unit. All I can say is great. Now that I've actually fired a POF Gas Pistin System, I'm sold.
I hope that the Military wants alot of those, especially in the sandy and dusty area's of the middle-east

All we can say is thanks to you and your friends. We appreciate the input and hope to continue to improve our product. It is great to here all of you went thru several systems to look over all the features of each system. Sounds like you guys do your homework.
Sounds like the best part of your comparative test was sending some time with your good friends.

Frank

"RELENTLESS RELIABILITY"
GAS PISTON WEAPON SYSTEMS REQUIRING NO LUBE.
Frank,
Your post indicates that your system requires no lube. Please elaborate, as this would be heresy with legacy systems.

Aubrey,
All of our gas piston uppers and weapon systems come "STANDARD"
with our "Silicone Nickel" coating on the interior of the upper receiver and charging handle. The silicone Nickel coating is very slick coating. :D
Our entire gas piston operating system uses the C.R.O.S. (Corrosion Resistant Operating System).
The barrel and gas block and tube are chrome lined, the gas plug, gas piston and the entire bolt carrier assemble is chrome plated "Standard".
These coatings allow our gas piston weapon systems to operate without the need for lubricants. :D You can still use lubricant if you wish too. The choice is yours.

Thanks for the clarification Frank. My experience has been that proper lubrication makes things more enjoyable.

Frank, there's another way to reduce barrel weight ;) Do you have any experience with the ABS Carbon Fiber wrapped barrels?

CapnCrunch,
Hope all is well. We are aware of ABS carbon fiber wrapped barrels.
We understand they work well to reduce weight and heat. We would have to look at the benefit over what our heavy profiled , heavy fluted barrels offer, turned complete in house.
The issues would be the qty. of barrels delivered on a monthly basis, and the cost. Logistics would be our greatest enemy. Our fluting of our barrels adds one more mill operation to manfacture in house. The carbon fiber adds possible 4 steps (wrap, bake, turn, seal), but I'm not 100 % sure of every step in the process. Then we would have to truck the barrels to and from ABS. This process could add as much as 6 weeks to our barrel manufacturing process time, before we would have barrels available to assemble.

First, I again want to complement you on your system. I absolutely love mine. The one and only thing I don't love 100% is the Predator rail system. But it just so happens that the DD rail is my favorite rail and I have one on my direct gas impingement M4. Your system with that rail will be absolutely awesome. Just one question. Will one need to buy the upper with standard M4 handguards, will the rail come standard on future models (and) or will current models with the Predator rail be able to be retro-fitted.
TIA,
TS

How well would a 11.5" bbl. piston driven upper work with a suppressor ?
Any ( YHM, Gemtech, etc. )work better with the piston system ?
Thanks

Suppressors work good with gas piston uppers.
The manufacture of the suppressor is your choice.
We have used Jet Suppressor and Gemtech cans with great results. :D
