View Full Version : SilencerCo Osprey- Range Demo Day
The video from the trip to the range this evening: SilencerCo Osprey and the AAC TiRant:
NEW VIDEO with TiRant footage at the end!
Video of SilencerCo Osprey at Pearland Shooting Club (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPYuCtaWzm0&feature=autofb)
Youtube kept failing to process the last two minutes of the video for some reason.
Anyone think one or the other sounded quieter?
The Osprey sounded good, was the TiRant 45 in that vid? Or is there another one with the TiRant?
Had to re-upload the video. Youtube was failing to upload and process the last two minutes of my video. This was the seciton that had the comparison between the Osprey and the tiRant.

I like the Osprey thank you for the video. The cigar adds a nice touch as well. :D

hey dude, thanks a million for making that video. i was torn between the two suppressors and u helped me make the decision. seems like the suppressors perform equally well. again, i appreciate it.

They both are very efficient cans.
The cans sounded the same- put an entire mag through them and then retest them. I watched the videos on Osprey's blog and as they were firing their cans, they got MUCH quieter- after 5 rounds or so. Maybe you'll see a difference there. I don't understand why you did 3 in each.
One note- the guys at Osprey show installing the can with the cam lever in place and once tight, opening it, aligning can and then closing it. Made sense to me and I wasn't sure if you could get the can on tight with the cam open like you did. But, it looks like you did so can you tell me how that was possible? It doesn't seem like it would work based on their videos of it because the threads and LID part seemed to rotate very freely in the rear portion of the can.
How do you like the can Sean?

it was what made it into the video. I am not doing mil spec testing and the video camera doesn't capture the true sound response of the suppressors. It is simply representational of the performance.

My can is brand new and the collar is relatively tight. It is certainly better practice to tighten the can witht eh cam locked, then unlock and index.

I like both cans a lot. Most people perceive the TiRant as a bit quieter than the Osprey when they hear them side by side. The Osprey is shorter and a bit more compact than the TiRant and I like that. It also does a better job of not obscuring the weapon sights.
I like both of them and your money would be well spent on either suppressor.

After I get an AAC M4-2000, I definitely want a S&W M&P .45 with a Silencer Co. Osprey.
I like the way the Osprey looks on the SIG P220.
They both sound similar on vid, what was your ear's perception?
I like the look of the asymmetric design of the Osprey far better. Wish AAC would have brought the Blackbox out.

Shivan, I like both cans. I know that's a cop out, but I really do like both the cans. They both sound damned good.
Nope, I completely understand. I love my SWR Trident and my AAC Evo-9 about equally well but for different reasons. They both sound great, so I can understand sentiment.
