LMT Gas Piston Pre-Orders!

I am now taking Pre-Orders for the new LMT Gas Piston system that is scheduled to be released in November. You be able to choose from a new upper with the system installed with either a 16" or a 12" barrel and a Carbine length rail. If you already have an MRP (with a carbine lenght rail), you can also order the conversion kit to upgrade your existing MRP.

I don't have any pricing info, but LMT is taking back orders in July and we are on the top of the list to be notified when they start.

There is no money required to be put on our order list, but when July comes around, I will send you an E-mail asking if your still interested. At that time, I will need a deposit to hold you place in line.

If one already has a 14.5" MRP, will it be possible to install the gas piston conversion kit on???
I am trying to determine the compatibility of all the bbl and rail lengths here.
IOW, will the gas piston upgrade kit, for a 16" rifle, be the exact same kit as one for a 14.5" rifle or what??? How about the 12" conversion kit? Will it be the same EXACT conversion kit as the 16" kit or what???

I don't know why you couldn't. The thing that is for sure is that you can only use carbine length rail as the gas system cannot fit under the rail.

No, I've been in touch with Monica Sipp of LMT numerous times about the piston system, and it will not work with the 6.8. Possibly in the future though...

Edit, however, if you want a quantity of 250 or more, LMT will machine whatever you want, if it's feasible!

My MRP is pre-QD sling attachment above the two barrel bolts. I cant tell if mine has any type of metal insert in the gas tube hole. Can anyone who can positively identify that their MRP has the metal insert post a pic here Pleeeeese?

My MRP has the sling attachment point and the metal insert. However, since I'm bad at photography and due to the location of the insert, I can't provide a pic. Trust me, it's there (at least it is on the newer ones).
