I have an idea for my rifle but I need to find out how long do you need to have your barrel to have a Noveske Pig permanently attached to make the overall length 16" if that is feasable.

Here's my newish Charles Daly Defense rifle. I've added a Magpul CTR stock, MOE Grip, Enhanced Trigger Guard, and PMAG. Right now I'm having fun with the iron sights, but sometime in the future I'll probably upgrade to an optic I can use at the range.

My most current AR. Need to find an LMT 16". I want to build a non SBR version of the Mk18 Mod 0. I removed the Ergo grip and put on an Armalite USGI grip and KAC winter trigger guard.

Is the extension on the bottom to raise the butt an option? (not sure if I'm using the correct term)
I don't see it on the item in your link. It shows the only option as being an extended butt pad.

The monopod is optional. You can also order them direct from Magpul, not sure if I've even seen them anywhere else. I don't have an ACS, but out of all the Magpul stocks, the PRS is my fav. I know most people prefer the UBRs, but I find myself wishing I had bought more PRS vs. the UBR. I do like CTRs for shorter rifles. I really like the cheek weld on the PRS.

I'm working on that. I haven't decided which BUIS to get. :confused: Troy? YHM? MI? ARMS? When I decide I'll post a new set of picts. I do have the RRA folding front sights on already. It's just folded flat in that pict. Plus I forgot to put the .22LR upper next to my AR.

What happened to that Magpul billet lower, on the top flat joint line that meets up to the upper receiver? Just above the mag release button, you can see some bare metal, and what appears to be a rather significant gouge out of the billet.
No biggie, but if that truly is a blem, and not just an optical photo illusion, it appears to be a rather odd ding, not likely to occur in the manner in which it appears to have.
Anyone else see that? Just looks kind of odd.

Been tinkering a little bit. Here is my PD15 piston upper/ LMT lower. I removed the M900 and added a TD shorty QD VFG, Surefire Scoutlight, added the AAC M4-2000 and my AN/PVS-14. This is the one that sits next to the bed at the moment.

dark colors as the basecoat ( i used brown, olive, and the black of the original finish), and random applications of tan/khaki over a stencil. no special techniques, other than to try and break up the edges/lines of the rifle.

Hey VTL,
Hk416 uppers can be had, if you know where to find them.
These will fit on ANY AR lower.
The Hk MR556 (aka "MR223" in Europe) is the molested version which will NOT fit on standard AR lowers.

It’s the PRI Aimpoint Mount, commonly found on the Navy Mk18 Mod0.

The hole is a lightening hole, not for sighting through.

You have to modify the MIAD to make it work properly since they re-orientated the rear take down pin's retaining spring (it's vertical now).

Once you plug the MIAD up so it won't fall out, you're rocking and rolling.

How do you do this?? I just put the MOE grip on my SR-15 because I couldn't get the MIAD to work. The MOE slipped right on and had no problems whatsoever retaining the spring and detent. I couldn't really think of anything to use to make the MIAD work, but then again I didn't really try either.

A few more additions! With inspiration from Byron's recent build (https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?p=428441&highlight=coming#post428441), I checked out Nitecore and purchased a Nitecore Defender Infinity (http://www.nitecore.com/products/ndi/) and VTAC light mount (http://www.vikingtactics.com/prod_vtac_lightmount.html). The NDI is light, has a clicky tailcap with momentary on/off, and offers strobe!

NDI w/AA battery = 2.4oz.
NDI + VTAC mount w/insert + MI picatinny rail hardware = 4.8oz
(in comparison, x300 w/MI picatinny rail hardware = 4.4oz).

The shape of the MOE handguards positions the light close to the FSB. I plan to get another NDI light to use for daily carry...

The lower receiver is a Stubborn Mule, probably going to get a Larue upper for it since SMOSA is now making Larues lowers.

The mag is a standard GI alum, with an Aurora Industries Mag Pro sleeve, I was given one to check out.

Also Also, I recently modified some KAC panels I had laying around. I saw someone who had done something similar and thought I would give it a go. I used a Dremel to grind off the ribs, then I stippled them. I think they came out nicely and are much more grippy than the Tango Down Scar panels I had on there before. They are also very low-pro.

Yup, you got it. I'm from the 'Nam too. It's a tough life in the bush, but what can you do eh?
I grew up here as well, but went to SCHS, not FCHS.
I had some nice private deer lease property, but it got sold. Still haven't got over it. I'm always looking for some buddies to shoot with, who are as serious as I am.
Hit me up sometime via PM. We'll do some shooting for sure.

Why not. I find the stippling much more grippy than grip tape, and you don't have to worry about it peeling off or wearing down. There are a ton of folks doing the same thing and no one has had any problems with the structural integrity, including me. (as I assume that is your problem with it)

Yes the integrity is what I was referring to(not so much a problem I hope) I agree that it would be more grippy. Thanks for the pics btw thats some good shooting.

The offset is LaRue's LT-619 (http://stores.homestead.com/Laruetactical/Detail.bok?no=205) QD mount. I use the QD mount since the handguard cap prevents a light from being slid onto the rail. The QD mount also makes it easy to mount the X300 on other weapons.

Just my opinion, but I'd personally go with the H-1/T-1 in a Larue Tactical high mount. You already have enough weight on your rifle, and the H-1 + Larue mount wouldn't add very much more, whereas the 517 is roughly twice the weight of the H-1 + Larue mount combo.

But that's just me, and I'm obsessed with weight. Most guys aren't so obsessive compulsive about their guns as I am when it comes to how much every accessory on the gun weighs. But the T-1 is definitely my favorite optic. I have 3 of them now.
