Nice setup Wolf! I don't know where you're located in Utah, but that background isn't the easiest to find there. (At least in my neck of the woods/sagebrush)

So I've been following this thread for a few years now and didn't want to post mine until it was done, but since it's nearly there, I am going to be impatient and jump the gun. This thing is already over 4 years in the making. Before anyone says anything, I know it needs a weapon light and I have one, but I am just waiting on the mounting hardware as I just changed this set up (Santa was awesome this year and got me a Surefire m952v to replace my Inforce!). Also, sorry for the crappy pics. Any and all criticism is welcome :D

Very nice Munch, especially that scout mount. :)
Finally finished this off today. BCM 14.5 ELW and Geissele MK8. My SBR lower has an H2 buffer, which I doubt will run this. Get to find out tomorrow at the range.

Very sturdy and compact, compared to other MOE stocks I've had. One on one against the B5 on my SR15, I'd go with the SL, especially for an SBR, its compact, doesn't rattle and has a non-standard rear profile (angled) for positive retention when using a PC.

Wish you had a picture that included the complete scope with the Warne mount. How high is it from the top of your Picitanny rail to the center of your scope tube. If it is close to 1.5 inches I would be interested. I like the 1.5" for a comfortable cheek weld.

Thanks for the question, it is right about 1.5inches. My decade old tape measure has seen some wear but its basically there.
The mount is sturdy, but other than that I have not put any serious time on it. In FEB I'll be running the mount/optic in a 762-based class so I'll report back then.

I'm curious as to how that light setup works for you? It seems that you would have to beer can the VG to activate the light.
Yeah, it's not the "current" best practice but I learned to shoot a long time ago and that best matches my rifle shooting style.
Also, many guys at my department have had issues with pressure switch kits, so being able to activate it with my thumb just keeps everything as simple as possible.

Thanks and yes, we have the same scope. I really like it for this gun and I think I'll like the 4.5 power the best for hog hunting. The mount is a Leupold cantilever that I wish had quick disconnect levers. I'm looking to see if it's possible to retrofit standard screws to QD. Your gun looks really good too. I'll check out the custom turret labels. Thanks.

This is my first post here. I have been looking at this thread at it seems to me that this is a visual history of the development of the AR platform over the past few years. Plastic hand guards, to key mod. Pretty cool stuff.
OK, here is a family shot taken last year at a John Farnam urban rifle class. The three suppressed rifles were build before our Washington State SBR ban was lifted. They are permanently attached, and tuned to work with a sound suppressor. They work really well. The AR with the ACOG started life as a stock Colt 2920. The other is a LMT MRP piston gun. Not all of these are mine, but to the members of my LLC.
Coming soon is a 10.5” LMT MRP, SBR. That pretty much covers the AR family.

@ NoveskeFan, if you look at the sizes of the 9 o'clock vs. The 10:30 position you can see the are not the same size. Makes me think it's the regular MK4.

@ NoveskeFan, if you look at the sizes of the 9 o'clock vs. The 10:30 position you can see the are not the same size. Makes me think it's the regular MK4.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I wasn't aware of a way to attach hand stops and QD mounts to the standard MK4. Anyone know? I'll try to PM js213.

The only thing i'm trying to decide on is whether to chop the fsb or buy a Syrac for it. Dustin from CIV Tac is doing the work and he suggested the Syrac since I will be running a Surefire can on it. How do you like the Syrac?

If you're running the can I'd absolutely go with a Syrac or SLR Sentry over the cut down FSB. Only thing is if it's a .750 barrel the inside of the CMR or the bottom of the Syrac block would have to be trimmed down to fit. I had a .750 barrel/gas block and shaved down the bottom inside portion of the CMR where the block sits. Was fairly easy with the way the 9" and 11" versions are made and doesn't affect the integrity of the handguard. If your barrel is a .625 lightweight it's smooth sailing with any standard sized gas block.
Syrac gen 2 blocks are awesome. I've got two now and the difference they make with a can is well worth the extra money and effort without a doubt. SLR's sentry is another excellent option. Glad to see you're expanding on your CMR collection!

I have since changed scope and mount (sold the PA 1-6X and Burris mount) and will be changing my buttstock and grip as well.
Current New Scope Set-up: Primary Arms 4-14X44 FFP Mildot Scope with American Defense Recon QD Mount!
Ordering this week the Magpul STR buttstock (more cheek-weld) and BCM Mod3 Grip (maybe Mod2) ... hoping I like the straighter hold better then more angled Magpul MIAD.
I will post pics with those changes as well here soon. :)

I have the first generation Syrac, really well made, but leaked gas at the adjustment set screw. There is a newer version that probably fixes the problem so make sure which one you're getting if you go that route.

Terrible pic for now. Still waiting on my KAC sights, after mounting them I'll use the DSLR to take a much better photo. For some reason that Surefire sits crooked on that HSP mount, not a big deal though, but I want to get a LaRue since I hate using tools to remove accessories.

Got to the range I normally shoot at and was told by a few other that were there that the local DNR officer had shown up 15 minutes earlier and issued tickets to everyone with more than one round in their mag, per the archaic rules they have posted which basically allows muzzle loaders and bolt action rifles only... I've shot there dozens of times while the sheriff deputy sat in the parking lot. No issues. Guess it's time to find my own property to shoot at.

I have one! Ordered a MEGA Slidelock SL-400 and a few goodies for my new rifle from AIM Surplus on 2/3/15 and received it on 2/10/15. Seems to function very well in the new rifle.

I was pretty happy with this 200 yard group.
I was using a 16" SR-15 upper, with that Magtech 62gr. 5.56 and my MK6. I was shooting prone, supported by a block of wood and a small sandbag.
I am not real sure how to measure groups, so I just took the length of the farthest shots, and got 2.5"
I love the SR-15.
