It is a valid question/concern, I just want to set and forget and not want to have to worry about it being turned the other way for whatever reason. The rifle is run suppressed at all times (it's zero'd suppressed) and that's the way it'll stay.
The only reason I do t have any billet lowers is I haven't been able to find a billet lower I can use my Redi-Mags on. But they sure look very solid and well machined.

I ran a redimag for about six months and realized it just isn't for me, then I got a gen-2 a few years later to try it out and again, realized its just not for me. I have a few coupled pmags and they work 100% better than the redi-mag system at 1/10th the cost.

Brand new Colt 6721 with FDE Magpul furniture. Just bought it yesterday - EO Tech is on order from Brownell's.
Rock River Arms with properly staked castle nut, complete Colt BCG, BCM charging handle, Noveske QD endplate, Aimpoint PRO, Surefire light, A.R.M.S. BUIS and Magpul furniture.
17 year old Colt 6721 Police-Trade in. Assault weapon ban era rifle with "RESTRICTED" roll mark, Mequon, Wisconsin police department property sticker and "SQD #8" stenciled on original N1 marked stock. Checked out by gunsmith - Springs replaced and bore scope indicates it has a high round count but is very serviceable. Waiting on new Colt gas tube to come in from Brownells now. Keeping it 100% original.
A 2016 Ruger Mini-14 Tactical 580 (IMHO, the most fun one to shoot)
*** In Maryland, only heavy barrel (HBAR) AR's are legal for purchase.

The Colt's EO Tech EXPS2-0 and Magpul MS-1 sling with QD connection on stock end came in this afternoon. Still waiting on the LaRue LT-103 fixed rear sight to come in. Ordered a single output 320 lumen Surefire G2X in Tan but now I am debating if I am going to use it. Thinking about sending the EOTech shroud out and having it creakoted tan (FDE) to match the hand guard & stock.
I went back and forth on wether to go with the XPS2 (absolute cowitness) or the EXPS2 (lower 1/3 cowitness). Now that it's here and I have it mounted, I'm glad I went with the raised version.

I looked into these awhile back, and ARES doesn't sell just the lowers. Wish they did.
Maybe things have changed recently; this was a couple years ago.

Appreciate the feedback, but could you elaborate on what I should look out for? I get that VISM/NcStar doesn't have the best rep, but the reviews for this handguard were all great and in my view it was worth the risk.

Gotcha, thanks. I'll keep an eye out.
My initial impression after install is that it's well built and fits solidly between the delta ring and bell mount. Aligns perfect with no gaps, no wobble, no rattle. Also the two pieces connect to each other tightly with 6 screws.
Now that you mention it, it probably wouldn't hurt to add loctite on those screws.

Some people want total parts break downs, some people want lists of just the major pieces, some people want pictures not words in pic threads, some people want to know what certain items were selected, other people want pros and cons of the various pieces... No matter what I type out it won't be right, but I might try to put in a little more info.

My 20" rifle wanted a little brother.
PSA lower with a BCM LPK and buttstock. The upper is a PSA 14.7" pinned and welding with a midlength gas system
Stick, is there any disadvantage to rotating the M2 so the switch is at 11:00 instead of 1:00, as you did here? I wouldn't think there would be, but it looks more handy to adjust the dot setting.

Rainier ambi lower, a5 RE, Vltor emod, BCM LPK
MUR upper, SOLGW BCG, Geissele CH, gas block, and MK8 13". BCM 14.5 EMW cut to 13.7 and BE Meyers 249s with a saker 556.
Blue Force Gear sling, surefire p3x with millennium tailcap. Troy BUIS, aimpoint H1 in a Sampson mount.
Overall this is heavier than my 16" BCM, but incredibly accurate for a 'carbine' and has worked with and without the can with no issues. As a lefty, I still get gas to the face, but nothing too bad. Overall in the 500 or so rounds I've shot through it It's been exactly what I wanted.

I agree. No 1 is my favorite and like them all but the bokeh on No 3 bugs my eyes for some reason. Great pics, thanks for posting and I look forward to seeing more.

Its just a very old Paul Chen Practical Plus Katana that has seen far to many Tameshigiri mats.lol. Saya is custom made w/ Ivory inlay and kurikata. I had a couple "Nihonto" swords and koshirae but sold them off. Kept the "undesirables"

I'm old school and I know the rifles with the free floated barrels tend to be more accurate but since most of my shooting is less than 100 yards I just can't fall in love with the free floated barrels. You have a classic carbine that I find more to my liking. Yes, that pixelmated image is an abomination. But, it does have that "cool" factor.

Post 2013 only HBAR AR's are legal for purchase in the state of Maryland. Goofy state law.

It is the Fight Lite Industries SCR lower. It takes any standard AR15 upper, and gives an old school rifle stock replacement lower. It comes with a modified BCG and buffer assembly which angles into the stock, much like a FAL works.
Some people tend to think of it strictly as an AWB stock. I look at it as someone breaking the mold and coming up with something unique in the AR15 market. It isn't meant to replace anythink , it is just another option for shooters. It is AWB functional for some states of locations, but I don't know what would or wouldn't be on that ever changing list.

Those have been around for a while. I can't really put a time period on "a while" but I've been seeing them in my Facebook feed for probably close to a year anyway. And yes, I find them pretty appealing as well.

This is my first AR. She started as a Sig M400 Enhanced MOE carbine. I had the front sight removed and replaced with a Geissele gas block. The front end has been free floated inside a YHM lightweight rifle length quad rail. Factory A2 birdcage was replaced with a YHM Phantom Slant brake. (Loud as all get out but very effective at keeping the front end down.) The stock is a LMT SOPMOD stock. Rear grip is Magpul MOE+. Front grip is a LaRue. Trigger is a Geissele SSA wearing the springs from a SSA-E. (3.75lb very consistent pull according to my gauge) Factory safety was removed and replaced with a V Seven weapon systems 57 degree titanium hybrid. The light is a Surefire M952V. Sight is a Vortex Strikefire 2 in their low mount ring to get it down to absolute cowitness height. Rear sight is the Magpul MBUS that came with the rifle and the matching front sight has been added since this picture was taken. Standard charging handle has been replaced with a BCM Mod 4. Magpul BAD lever installed also. She's no lightweight (coming in just a smidge below 10lbs per the bathroom scale) but she runs like a scalded dog.

I threw the Leupold 3x9, and Atlas bipod on it for a quick function test (and photoshoot first) at the range yesterday (in pouring rain yesterday), bore sighted while there and took a 5 shot group under half minute @ 100 yards in the first 15 shots, rig has potential.
Now I need to start serious shopping for longer capable glass and also thinking of swapping out the OEM stock for one a little more "PRS".

Nothing fancy...a Del Ton with a 25mm RD & BUIS. Shoots great though.

I did a Sabotage (movie) tribute out of parts I had, its a 7.5 but its came out nice. They used the Noveske NT4 but I didn t have the right combination of parts, so I went with the shorter barrel

Very nice build. Interesting, I had a build with the same upper and lower. Built out a couple of weeks ago. Good job!
Yes it is the SL-S. So far I'm a pretty big fan of the stock. Im considering replacing the VLTOR emod on my other AR with an SLS aswell. As for the upper/lower, the two fit perfectly together and that's exactly what I wanted. I finally got the barrel (ADM's/Criterions new hybrid) after waiting about a week and a half after ordering. I cant wait to get out and shoot this thing.

For my second rifle I put together with the exception of the Aero Pricision lower everything else in this rifle is 100% BCM. I built this to be a copy of my factory Colt 6920 but with BFH barrel and midlength gas system.

On the second lower it does have a U forge mark but other then that the fit and finish are really good I didn't even use the set screw because there is hardly any play.

One thing I found interesting is how it says BCM4 similar to how on a Colt says M4 in front of the top rail, just thought that was cool I hope you guys can make out the picture.

I couple weeks ago I got a good deal on a DD M4V7 LW, I added a Geissele SSA trigger & a Trijicon MRO.
Finally went out an shot it yesterday, I love this rifle wish I would have spent the money years ago on one.
Now I want to buy another one.

Actually knocked the lower together in a *hotel room*--the only things the Wheeler toolkit I used was missing were screwdrivers and Allen wrenches. Upper came preassembled by CBC Industries; once I've had a chance to test-fire the thing I'll toss up a post in Custom Builds.
One change I know is coming...
--Remove Magpul BAD Lever. As a left-hander, it's just added weight.

The Rev is my second rifle after I got the necessities satisfied with my 6920. It was bought from a local AR company, Rev Arms (who recently shut down due to shitty business practices (i.e., taking your money but never sending you the product)), and assembled by myself. With them being local, I was able to meet up with the sales manager in person at their old shop and buy the upper to finish the rifle before they closed. Unfortunately, many others never got their product. Guess that's what I get for trying to support a local business. The rifle itself became a bit of a project, as it had a few quality issues (cutting corners on things that a $1300 rifle should not have cut). However, I've replaced those few parts and now it seems to be gtg. Reliable thus far with around 500 or so rounds. I'm interested to see how it does in the long run; eventually I'd like to get a 2.5-10x Nightforce for it and turn it into a SPR of sorts.

Not my preference either, amigo... it was the commode, the sink or the tub and when you're stuck living with packrats who have a half-century of crap piled floor to ceiling everywhere, ya take whatever workspace you can get, ya know? Not like I can take it outside with Brady Bunch neighbors looking for excuses to pee their frilly pink panties... hell, I'm surprised they didn't try to SWAT me over just having the lower outside for a quick hit of spray-paint.

Yes, it could... apparently I'm the only one who can ever do a bloody thing between cooking, cleaning, laundry and the rest of "running a household". There's a reason every time I enter that room I do a full Agent Orange-style spraydown with Lysol! The seat next to the crapper was my late grandmother's, one more of many things they can't be bothered to sort out and dispose of and refuse to allow me to either. (You try having to deal with being conscripted as live-in caregiver to both a badly aging mother and a badly aging aunt sometime! :( )
