Thanks everyone! It is one of my favorite rifles I own, and I like the mark 4 m2 Ts30. It fits the role of this rifle perfectly. They are hard to find nowadays but worth it.

Very very cool man, I’ve been wanting to build this exact rifle for some time. IMO this is what the MK12 should have been.

Took it out all day on Saturday. Two gas settings. One for supersonic and the other for suppressed subsonic. Barnes 110gr ran flawless through it but some of the other ammo I had gave me some light extractions. Haven’t put a can on it yet. Zeroed a little high at 100 let me put rounds on anthing from 0-200. It’s a nice little package

No name was ever assigned to it. In my mind it would have been called the Gen 3 basic.

I would love to see Noveske come out with this as a lower priced Gen 3. Something nice and simple, still Noveske, and still awesome. However, what I envision for the current market would really need to keep the price down. Noveske isn't going to ever compete with the bottom feeders, but an entry level Gen 3 Noveske would be an interesting beast.

ETA- The light weight barrel really give this one great balance and handling. Its especially nice for the type of person who is going to hump a weapon around through the woods and wants to stay on the lighter weight side.

Thanks, It's the first quad rail I've owned so I can't really compare it to anything else, but I like it, easy to grasp and lightweight.

Swapped out my 'old' muzzle devises for a pair of Surefire WarComps and was able to get out and try them out. Both performed great but my ultimate goal is to go suppressed down the road. Hopefully that happens sooner rather than later. I was also trying out the new SLRrifleworks stock on my Battle Arms Devolopment build but have decided to go back to the Magpul CTR I had installed on it before. I just didn't really care for the SLR stock... personal preference I suppose. :)

Thanks. It's a VLTOR Vis-3 Monorail set up w/ Noveske barrel. Been a great shooter!! Not as light as the newer rails but seems to be tough as nails. :) Tougher than I'll ever likely push to it's fail limits.

Still in a "non-firearm mockup" (attentive eyes will notice the absence of ejection door, fwd assist, delta ring, trigger, selector, takedown pins and charging handle; less visible is that the lower's an unfinished 80%*) stage while I wait (and wait... and wait...) for my gunsmith to get back to me with numbers on chopping the bayo lug, doing some refinishing on upper and CH and torquing the barrel nut.
*Which will be the second of four polymer "trainer blanks" before I graduate to cutting 7075-T6 for the lower to be used in the final build unless somebody comes up with a truly kickass poly or hybrid before then.

Still crappy phone pics... Stick, what are your usual rates like? I was thinking of asking you to shoot the official "Build Portrait" for the file once this monster's done.

While this makes me sound like a jackass, we only work with manufacturers and a few marketing companies. On top of that we are still selective about who we will work with. It is a horrible business model as every other photographer I've heard of takes money without questions and shoots pics. The cop side of me just can't do it.

Finished by first build. Spikes lower with enhanced LPK, swapped out the grip for the MOE+, SL stock, BAR2 12” rail with a spikes upper and Troy battle sights. Going to add an optic around Black Friday.

I’m as normal as they come and picked them up. They are currently OOS, but the skinny is Colt camo upper receivers for $30 with free shipping.

This is one of my few go-to online gun stores. I also buy my Surefire Scout M300C lights here for $189 shipped. They do run some good deals.

Ok. I’m not really normal at all, so you should be gtg if they had inventory. Maybe contact them and see if this was a one time buy for them or a recurring product.

Give UBR the Troy SOCC a shot in my very first build.. looks nice and all, but no QD socket. Not a deal breaker but I’m not happy about it either. Had a nice feel to it though. Very well built and uses mil spec barrel nut

I like the Troy SOCC rail that I have installed on my own rifle. I used the blue force gear universal wire loop to mount my Vickers sling to the rail. It seems like it will hold up well.

It’s CHEAP. DPMS Oracle, cheap optics (3-9x and offset rds), knockoff bipod.

But it’s a blast to shoot.

I'm no camera expert but this is a pile of parts I purchased and put together on an ugly ottoman.

The upper is a solgw east India as there is not a single vice anywhere to safely torque a barrel nut.

I've only ever used it to secure wires from tape switches and to wrap radio antennas with. A few guys I used to shoot with would wrap their handguards with it as a reference point, but I personally like the feel of a quad rail so I haven't tried it like that.

I just took my rail covers off because I missed the quad feel. Plus it looks sexier now without the covers.

It has been working out really well, I like everything about this rifle. Hodge complete 14.5" upper, Battlearms lower, Wilson Combat "Paul Howe" 2-stage trigger , KAC/RB1 skyscraper RD/ magnifier mount, Scalarworks Peak sights, Precision Armament AFAB muzzle device, etc., etc. It is a nicely balanced, pretty lightweight, soft shooting, fast swinging and quick pointing carbine.

From what I read, Noveske wasn't involved in naming it or the design. It was named for Steve Holland, who was credited with the design, which utilized a 16" Noveske barrel, vs the 18" Douglas barrel of the Mod 0 & 1.

I was asking, because you alluded to the Mod H not being a 16" barrel. It sounded like you might know something different, which wouldn't surprise me with your contacts.

My Blackhawk Down-ish retro carbine and my current proven modern build with a "light/optimum" contour FN CHF barrel, beautifully machined Mega MLOK integrated upper, Sionics NP3 BCG, Vltor A5, Aimpoint T2, Geissele SD-C, Raptor CH, X300U-B, and a full complement of BAD and FCD bits and pieces.

I like to think of it as 25 years of AR evolution in one pic :-)

Good looking rifle. Love the Aimpoint PRO too. I've used and owned so many red dot sights including some very expensive ones but I keep coming back to the PRO. So simple and bombproof with a great field of view. A little heavy yes, but for the price you can get them nowdays I have yet to find a better value.

It is the RIS II rail Daniel Defense made to win the SOCOM rail trials. They are usually in FDE, but were also made in brown, and come with and without the FSB cutout.

I feel bad for any cops or mil guys who get flagged for the pic on their work computers. No argument that it is a Magpul wrench, and no complaints on the quality of the presentation, but if I got days off because you posted a pic like that in a weapon section, I would be more than a little pissed off. If you had posted in my section in the pic thread, or in the general section, it would be approaching praise worthy.


Just something to think about. There are professionals using this board that answer to imbeciles. That you don't hump a gun for a living doesn't change that those who do sadly work for people who can be both puritan and punitive.

You could always change it to a link, and post "possibly nsfw" next to it.

Thanks brother! I wasn’t 100% sure what AR I would prefer to run the can on, this or 12”, or 11.5, but hands down this 10.3 is the bees knees.
