I had a 590A1 at one time it is one of the few weapons I wish I hadn't gotten rid of. I keep an eye on the local dunhams cause they sell 590's for abot $360 once in a while... maybe later this year they have them at that price again. but I need to get back on topic... is that a KAC rifle or just a rifle with the URX and TT on it?

This is how I had my rifle set up when I first joined M4C

Its extremely useful.....matech makes it and if you notice it has a similar if not same dial mechanism w. set yardage values....IIrc they are marked at intervals of 100yds out to 800yds. total.

So basically if your target is at say 300yds.....dial in the 300yd. setting, put aimpoint dot on the target..and send it:) Now doesn't that seem about a thousand times easier than leaf sights...to me it does.

Actually, guys, that is an (as of yet) un-released M203 sight from Spuhr. Spuhr is a Sweish company that develops specialty products for the military community. We are the US importer of their products. What you are looking at is a prototype M203 mount that is easier, faster, and more intuitive than any other 203 sight available today. We have been working with Spuhr for months to refine the design to make it more versatile to suit U.S. Military requirements.

The prototypes have been extremely well received by some groups who shall remain nameless but who have already placed orders. More info will be forth-coming as the final production units become available. But, this system is pure awesome. I cut my teeth on the old leaf sight. I've used the red dot sights too (KAC, Wilcox, etc). This one has them beat.;)

ALCOAR
06-14-10, 22:21
That actual isnt the matech unit I believe.....but it uses the same principal.

Here is the matech one that has 5.56 adjustments or 7.62 adjustments...both in increments of 100yd....to 800yd in total. So obviously they can work double duties....hell these things are sketchy:D
http://militarytimes.com/blogs/gearscout/files/2009/05/20090520ll_matech-500x356.jpg

It was developed specifically for belt fed weapons.....more can be found on Military Times Gear Scout...however It makes no mention of them in use w. m203s however I am fairly confident they are used in the role.

I would LOVE one of these or perhaps two for the UBR....obviously no rail comes on the UBR, however...it could not be that hard to set some screws on a small piece of railing under the ubr. Accushot mono pods are fantastic to shoot for groups of a bench...I find it much easier than a rear bag...I might just have to get jiggy with it and see what I can screw up:)

I was thinking about this too. Why doesn't someone make a monopod that replaces the sling mount hook on the stock?

I claim this as intellectual property if no one has done it yet :)

Wouldnt it be stock specific for the UBR then? Thus, making it useless unless you have a UBR(If this is what you ment)? You can just drill a hole in the plastic, and but a sling swivel in it(For the other monopods they make) It would be nice to have a accushot, but there so damn expensive.

No, I'm talking about the sling mount hoop on bottom of A2 and collapsable stocks. Its held in firmly with one bolt on the butt of the rifle. It'd be pretty easy to fab up a mount that bolts in there and has a rail on the bottom for mounting a monopod.

No cool tactical back drops. But you get the idea.

Had a BAD lever but I didn't like it very much, it sometimes wouldn't lock my bolt to the rear on an empty magazine, I'm going to put it back on and try it again though. Also its hard to break the muscle memory of slapping the bolt catch on a reload to send the bolt home, and when I would do that the bolt wouldn't go forward sometimes...no idea.

OK, so now if you're going to act like a big boy you go to the section titled "Shotguns" and post a comprehensive thread detailing your first hand experiences with said gear and what the exact deficiencies are with it. If not then the right thing for you to do is to go ahead and delete your previous post and drive on.

Hello everyone!

I've been registered on the site for some time and I've posted an intro somewhere and another post somewhere about WOLF Ammo.

Well, I'm about halfway through the PIC THREAD and have been involved in looking at all the fine specimens of rifles that you gentlemen have been putting up and my head is spinning lol. So, I thought I'd just jump in here, for now, and throw up a couple of pictures of the "Family AR". I'm either going to move on and build another for myself or buy another weapon for my Ol' Lady.

So, FIRST
We started with a base Model Stag Arms Model 2 RH that looks like this with MI BUIS
http://i960.photobucket.com/albums/ae82/Mr_Anderson_Shooting/Stag%20Arms%20Mod%202%20Early%20Fall%202008/StagAmrsMod2factory.png
*NOTE: NOT my rifle. I am using this "googled" image simply as a reference for what has been done to the Factory Model that I purchased.*

I removed the sling adapter off from the FSB/Barrel area.
Installed:
MOE hand guard
"generic" single point sling attachment w/Black Hawk Sling
first samco G27 tactical hand grip
with a stuffed P-Mag

http://i960.photobucket.com/albums/ae82/Mr_Anderson_Shooting/Stag%20Arms%20Mod%202%20Early%20Fall%202008/5.jpg

And one more for the heck of it :)

All the rail covers/pannels are stippled including the bottom. I did the bottom ones with a needle instead of the Allen wrench. I also did one pmag. It suuuuucks. It took hours. I also dyed the xtms that are black. They used to all be FDE.

Pic thread:

http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/vv219/RetreatHell/BCM%20SBR/BCM%20Middy%20SBR/DSCF1580.jpg I didn't know how much those soldering irons cost. I figured they were more than 15$. I don't have much money cause I don't have a job.(I'm 20) when I get a idea I just have to do it right now I can't wait. Just like with my rail. I got it at a gun show and I needed a MI wrench to put it on or the 3 tooth kind I was told. So I got the 3 tooth kind and went home to put it on and those teeth wouldn't fit it the holes right. It was out of spec. So I did NOT want to wait for MI to send me a wrench and I took the wrench to the grinder and I cut off half of a tooth to make it fit. Then I had to grind down the other teeth to make them slimer. I got it to work. It took a while. I also didn't want to wait for a lo pro gas block so I cut it with a hack saw and then grinded it down. I also hacked sawed my carry handle for a rear site. Made a front sling attachment out of half a scope ring with a hacksaw and a file. I don't any elect tools but my gpa does so that where I grind. He has a soldering iron but I didn't want to wait till the next day to do it. Ar's are my life. All day I'm on here or YouTube looking at ar stuff or I'm shooting and tinkering with mine. I also spend my last dime on ar stuff. I paid a few buck in change for my ar cause it was my last penny and had no money for food.I've also done that on accesories too hahaha I'm crazy right..?! I'm a new member on here and I just thought I would let you guys know a lil. Btw your 11.5 bcm with the kac rail is what I am trying to make mine like. I love it!! Thank you for serving our country!! An updated pic of my wifes carbine. I added a fixed Daniel Defense rear sight and a Troy modular aluminum foregrip. I have run about 120 rds. through this so far and it shoots as predicted. I think with the grip and sight we have less than 900.00 into it. Since it was spread over time, it was a lot less painful.

This is a friends rifle, he just returned from a tour in S.Korea and picked this up yesterday from a local shop for around 2800 in all (little high don't you think)

So details
Bushmaster 16" Flattop
CAA Handguard
Grip Pod
Trijcon ACOG Green Reticle - main reason it cost so much.
And will have a new Houge grip on it tomorrow.

To me, he paid to much for what he has, but he just wanted something and unlike me, has no clue what Magpul or LaRue Tac is. I took it apart last night and man BM does some amazing staking work (ha, sarcasm)

I am going to be shooting it tomorrow and see how it runs, I do love the ACOG, talk about some crystal clear optics.

He had originally wanted me to help him look for one, and to give some advice on what to get, then yesterday I was helping a friend move and all of a sudden I get a text message from him saying he bought one. If I would have been with him I would not have let him make the purchase and found him a Colt or something better that was stockbare and then showed him Magpul and Larue for the handgaurds and such.

From seeing pictures of the Grip pod I never really liked it, but actually using one it was pretty useful. Great product for people that have short hand guards and like front foregrips and still want to have a bi-pod.

See Iraq Ninja's sig line for more info.

They both feel great. I've stippled them both. Thanks to Paul I got the 10$ soldering iron. I didn't have to do anymore with the candle and allen wrench. I've got great grip on both I just wanna know what you guys would pick?

Have you done any shooting with both sets noting any significant difference in heat transfer? If there is no discernible difference, choose the lighter set.

Magpuler go with what ever is more simple, the black one piece grips seem more simple then the mutli piece xtms. The simpler the equipment the less things that can go wrong.

Since the they're discussing rail covers, that may be taking it a little far. Hell if that's the argument you're going to make I could say "but if something goes wrong it'll only happen to a little two inch segment instead of to the whole side."

ETA for page ownage. A guy in my group had an excellent setup and let me take pics. He was gonna let me run her on the last stage, but I wanted to finish with mine, next match though I will. I was quite surprised how well balanced the rifle was even with the suppressor on the end, must have been the UBR.

It give you a very aggressive grip, and you don't have to buy as many sections. I use the Magpul XT covers. You can do the same with the XTM, and probably the ones you have on now, unless they have the clips.

And where's your rear site? That's only the PA optic, correct? Is that your defense gun, or fun gun?

I have a rear site but it's a carry handle I cut. I don't like it with the re dot. I need a magpul rear site. I don't have money. I have bought everything on this rifle and the rifle itself with no job. I have to wait till my birthday(pretty soon)to get the aimpoint t1 or h1. I have other guns that will be used for HD. This blaster would blow right through the walls. I live in a duplex type place. I'm young and just starting out but I plan to have a collection like Titleist before long.

She shoots everything though. 12 gage, ar, 9mm, .308. She even stippled a magazine for me lastnight!she's awesome. I have all my gun stuff on the bed like mags, chest rig, ammo, flashlights, rail covers...just tons of stuff. She goes to bed and just sleeps with all my gun stuff lol. For the record, I carry a piece every time I'm in NJ, and I think NW NJ is one of the nicer places that I go on a regular basis. Get up into the tristate area near the Delaware watergap, or off the Appalachian trail for great fishing and hiking, or for taking whitetail. If they would relax a bit, the bear hunting could be great as well. :D

Again, picture thread, I'm more than happy to head to the NJ threads to debate the state, but lets post pictures here.

Hey streck, How do those Primary Arms pieces work...I have been leaning that direction and was wondering how they hold up?

I really like it for what it is. It is not a true Aimpoint and does not strive to be. It works great on a range gun and I bet it would hold up to a few tactical classes (I'll share when I get to do that). For <$100, it beats the hell out of the other cheap red dots out there.

I wouldn't take into combat but think that it's great for range use, classes, and is even economical home defense option. I can't afford to put a $400+ optic on every weapon nor do I need to.

Streck...Thanks for the info...just what I needed to know...;)

I really enjoy this picture thread, and believe it or not I've actually looked through all 349 pages!

I do wish people would post what equipment they have hung on their M4's.

So, with that in mind... Which mount does this look like, which Aimpont (I think maybe the ML2 or ML3) and lastly which rail and is it FF?

Thank you

I should have specified. I'm less than 20 minutes away from NEW YORK city. I'm just so used to calling it the city.

Each to their own. And nice blaster. ;)

THANX!
It's a work in progress.

I'm looking into turning it into a RECCE rifle as funds allow.
Of course, I'll have to spend another 2 weeks researching it, as I have started at page 1 of this thread and am currently on page 309 lol.

Yes, indeed, to each their own :)

[QUOTE=Mr.Anderson;693046]I live 10 mins from NJ in PA. LeHigh Valley. IMO, the "City" here is not much different than areas I'm familiar with in NJ.

I hate NJ, no offense. It's hard to like a place that you feel naked in, ie;
NJ doesn't honor my CCL. so I stay outta NJ as much as possible. I'm also not giving any monies to a "police state" either.

I feel weird as hell every time im in NJ i live like 5 mins away from the bridge and 30 mins away from you but when i go to NJ to see my girl i feel so damn weird not having my glock on my hip when i know im only 20 damn mins away from my house, but its one state ill never move too along with cali

Spent 2 yrs in Bakersfield :)
I bought a Ruger P345 from 1st Amendment Sports.
Had to wait 10 DAYS! to pick it up.

Then, well, of course, I um, well, carried it around in a locked safe in my vehicle.

No offense taken. It's an old Weaver K3, 3x with a german style reticule. I picked it up for $8. I've since replaced it with a more traditional looking 4x scope.

This configuration is by no means final! The Aimpoint is a loaner off my M4, and the ACS, BAD and DC muzzle brake are all new components I have on there for T&E; I may well end up changing some or all of them pending the outcome of live-fire testing. I also don't have a light on there; I'm thinking I might try out the Danger Close Consulting low-profile mount at the 3:00 position. Once I have a final configuration established, I'm gonna paint the thing.

Stay tuned!

And that is why I no longer have a Ergo grip... I snapped mine but at least it wasn't that bad.

mine wasn't that bad at first- i actually finished out the course of fire with it wobbly, and i think i kept going for a while longer. but once the tear in the overmold started, the day quickly ended... kind of a safety issue at that point. i sent the broken one back to Ergo, and they replaced it, said it was the first they'd ever gotten back and were shocked... but i've used battlegrips ever since, and keep a spare A2 in my gear.

i tripped while rushing and landed on it knee first. i should probably be glad it snapped, or my knee might not have fared as well as it did. howd you break yours?

Truth be told I did it stupid, I was holding the rifle flat on a work bench while loosening the Castle nut on the RE... well I had my hand on the grip as opposed to using a vice block, as I didn't have one. The bad part is that I wasn't cranking on it real hard, I ended up breaking it loose in a vice using an GI mag and didn't dent it... so I broke it in a stupid way but I do not believe that an A2 or Magpul grip would have broken in the same situation.

Thanks. From my iPod screen the first clear one looked like a Lancer mag. I did not know MagPul had a clear magazine. I'm 95% sure that is a Crown Vic door. I would have thought the mags would fall out. If it is your car Vs. Sharing a car it might not be an issue.

Sierrahotel83

I have a lancer, I don't think they are worth more than Pmags as they seem to be every time I see them for sale. I have more trouble seating the mag with the bolt forward, even than a GI mag with 30 rounds in it. Oh yeah and the one time that was with between 10 and 15 rounds in it. Not saying that they are bad but in my opinion they are not as good as the pmag.
