These tests are kinda dumb but oh well...the gun ran fine but I was had to manually reset the trigger a few times. Got home, blew it out with compressed air, and it works fine again. By reset I mean I had to push the back of the trigger forward so it would click. A USGI or SSA probably wouldnt have had that issue.

I know, I know! It's an awesome system and I've been thinking about putting the 12" piston barrel and bolt up for trade for a 16" mid length DI barrel and bolt…. I'd probably send it off for a light profile and cut to 14.5" and add either the BattleComp or Triple Tap. Since their 14.5" MRP barrel is carbine length, I'd have to cut the 16" middy. I have SBR'd lowers so I wouldn't need to pin the 14.5, though I like the idea when I travel..

I hate to let it go, but I need to if I want the SR15 and I doubt it's very likely that I'll find the 16" barrel and bolt for trade. Right now, I'm running a LWRC REPR for something more along the lines of a precision rifle (338 Lapua 98b also), otherwise I might look at one of LMT's 16" or 18" stainless MRP barrels.

Thanks! I'm using a Battle Arms Development Ambidextrous Safety Selector (B.A.D. A.S.S., get it? :p) It's pretty great--both sides can be switched out for different selector profiles and the price isn't too bad given these are machined and not cast parts.

I have tried all of the different options available and prefer the hybrid to the others on my offhand side. It's mostly unobtrusive when my trigger finger is at rest against the receiver (I like to rest it above the mag release), but has enough purchase to operate relatively easily firing off hand. I have problems hitting the thin and thin-short levers with my off hand, and the short got in the way of my trigger finger at rest.

Out of curiosity, why didn't you mount the ACOG and its TA51 mount on the upper receiver?

Duffy. I do mount the ACOG on the flat. Just did that for anyone that wants to see just how far up it puts the ACOG. The lower you can get the scope the better off you are.

I think I've got one with a black baseplate on it. I'm not overly concerned about color coordination with the mags...most of the time I use an OD green 20 rounder (fits in my case).

Lovin' the MOE. I had a MVG on it previously but I found the MOE handguards are great as is, for me so I ditched the MVG.

Nice lower Gotm4. I live about 10 minutes away from Lancer. How do you like that Burris scope? I tried one out on my rifle and with the PEPER mount it comes with with a fast fire on top, it was super heavy.

I wish I could say it was a long list of special photoshop skills used to create it, but honestly it was just clicking on FILTER, then clicking on the filter titled PHOTOCOPY. This was the result.

The original picture was ok, but this works for something that you want to create an outline of, it also works if an image is slightly out of focus and you want to get something out of it.

Thank you, Moose-Knuckle... my choice was crafted by a lot of research and guidance from the good members of this forum! Thanks to them, I'm very happy with how it turned out... choosing a first AR can be a bit of a daunting experience, even for a seasoned gun guy. I had a number of good recommendations, but didn't want to just choose one on recommendation, I had to do a lot of thinking and study to understand what choices would be good and for what reasons, then I could make the decision with understanding.

I got this brake last night and installed it. The included shim guide was welcome after installing brakes without one and having to guess at what shims to use.

Got home from work too late tonight to test it out without angering the neighbors, so hopefully I'll have a chance to test it out tomorrow before the dreaded Halloween parties... Why do adults insist on costume parties, anyhow?

Im actually thinking about picking up a new grip and i like the Stark but since my hands are medium sized i dont know how well it will work for me.

The Hogue looks like it has a nice gripset and looks pretty sweet from ur pix.

CAG... I like the Hogue, but for me, it's a bit thin side-to-side for my liking, but I have larger hands and like a thicker, hand-filling grip.

I also like the rubberized Ergo grip. Depending on your preference for finger grooves, I think either one is a good choice.

Yea i actually like thin side to side thats why the Hogue immediately stood out when i saw it on ur rifle.

For some reason i just have never like the overall look of the Ergo.

I think the Hogue is now the number one contender for my next grip, thanks for that DHart :)

Far from it, I've got weapons that see little if any use aside from pictures. There are times when images are going into publications that a used or worn looking weapon isn't going to work. My core group of training and duty weapons fills a variety of roles quite nicely.

Thank you! The Ergo is kinda funny looking when you look at it, but the way it feels when you pick it up makes it worth it. I tried several different grips at the store before choosing that one and it felt the best. Personally I like the look of the MIAD grip, but it just felt like a more "updated" version of the stock grip that comes on every rifle.

The 12" Lite is awesome! I always wanted a DD rail on my rig but could never bring myself to spend the money on it. But when I was picking out my upper from BCM and could afford the set-up that included the rail, I went for it. Totally worth it in my opinion.

Yea the look of the Ergo has just always thrown me off and i never tried one.

Im currently running a MIAD and for me its extremely comfortable, with medium back strap.

I actually really like the Stark grip but im still up in the air on which to go with when i get my new setup.

I agree with u on the DD rail, i went shooting with a friend before i built my SBR. He was running a 7" Lite and i absolutely loved everything about it except i felt it was a little short for me. So once i built mine i knew that the 9" Lite would be perfect for me and thats what im currently running now. I feel DD makes "the" best rails on the market followed by Larue.

My setup is almost identical to urs furniture wise, im running a CTR, MBUS, and RVG as well :)

Ill readily admit, i love Magpul and drank the kool-aid heavily lol.

That kool-aid tastes pretty sweet, doesn't it? I fully support what the guys at Magpul are doing. I'm an industrial designer and everything they do has proper design oozing out of their products. They completely focus on operator/equipment interaction and that's what good design is all about.

Give the Ergo a shot and feel what it's like on a rifle. You may end up liking it. However if the MIAD is what works for you then you made the right choice.

No, the BAD lever is a good piece of kit, I have never had a problem with any of them, just make sure to use loctite. I ran one through 1800 rounds at a Magpul Dynamics class, and run the one on my Recce as my 3-gun rifle. Reloads are faster for fighting and gaming, and "unload and show clear" for the games is easier.

You know I think it is important that the US population remember there are, contrary to what the left wing media portrays, a lot of countries in the free world that have and continue to support the US in OIF and OEF.

Eta...is your uspc one of the super rare colored framed models...They came in OD, FDE and Urban Grey and I believe all the USPc's were done in .40sw and the USP's were done in .45. I picked up a Urban Grey in the USP40c and its my favorite handgun now.

Thanks. :D There are a few changes, of course--

- Geissele SSA: I figured if I couldn't have burst capability, I might as well have a fantastic trigger regardless

- BCM Mod.4: In my opinion, what all charging handles should be, at least the basic design. Might change it out for a Mod.5 since the release pokes me in the chest when I have it slung

- YHM rear sight: I know the MaTech is more "Mil-Spec," but the logo matches my lower and I got it for a steal

- TA94: No way in heck I'm risking damage to the objective lens

- YHM lower: Quality receiver, I like the logo, and there was a local sale on them for $99. Besides, FNH receivers are near-impossible to find

Thanks. The sling attachment is from IWC (http://store.impactweaponscomponents.com/). I'm experimenting with some different locations/orientations for it. I have drilled a couple holes in the handguards to get it where it is, and the HK hook is a bit more difficult to attach than I had hoped--I think orienting it down so that the loop is down below the handguard would make it much simpler. I have a couple other mounts from them, most notably the QD sling attachment on my Spike's/BCM gun, which is made specifically for that rail.
