I owe a major thankyou to Belmont for the Surefire brake. It shoots beautifully.

I dumped 600 rds of brown bear through it last Saturday without a hiccup; I love it when the range reopens for Spring.

and its still not fair that you have the exact lmt/kac setup I want.:laugh:

It's scary how close the fit, finish, and overall quality KAC and LMT kit shares. I have numerous dreams about those two officially collaborating and stop all the charades and do a Special ED project:cool: I bet if 1k people signed up they would do it.

I used mil-spec CARC paint (chemical agent resistant coating), the same stuff we use to touch up Apaches and HMMWVs. I called PWC and asked about purchasing a variety of colors for a special project I had in mind, and after he found out I just got back from across the pond, he so nicely volunteered to send me six cans, free of charge.
I photo copied some ACU fabric and cut out several different patterns with an Exacto knife for the overlays,... took about four days total, and had blast doing it.
Here's another shot of the TLR-2 mounted on my G23

Hope you don't mind, but I got a little inspired and HAD to create that masterpiece of yours on Pimp-My-Gun. This is a ground up build; gas tube, bolt and all. Did not use any presets. Unfortunately, PMG does not have the needed components to really make an accurate depiction. Nontheless, I was inspired!

Well, you hardcore AR guys probably won't be very impressed, but it was a great feeling to assemble my first rifle. I had a tough time getting a picture, and my camera batteries died before I was finished, but manged a few shots.

Yeah, I know the zombie thing is silly, but it was the same price as a regular Spikes stripped lower and I was watching Walking Dead at the time of purchase!

Lower: DPMS lower (ya i went cheap on the lower)
Magpul MOE stock and handguard
Aimpoint R1 micro w/ Daniel Defense mount (micro is spray painted)
Magpul MBUS
Ergo pistol grip (best i've ever tried)
Magpul PMAG
BattleComp 1.0 SS (new just got it cant wait to get some rounds through it)

The only thing i have to add is a Magpul ASAP and a P.I.G. slider one point sling.

I used to use XTM panels sanded to take the ribs out then stippled but found I prefer the KAC panels. It doesn't take long and it's pretty tacky. Also, when you sand them (I just use a Dremel) you can take them down very thin, which is great. I do all of mine this way and use a very fine stippling which grips more for me than the real broad kind some do. when you get sweaty, in the rain and especially when you're in a very dry sandy environment there's a very noticeable difference.

I posted pics a few pages back, but here's one where you can see the rail covers. The XTM panels aren't bad when made thinner, but under hard use I've had them pop off a few times.

I've gotten so used to it this way that I'm a little concerned about using the LW URX II I just picked up with the slick rails.

I love the way they feel. I've never run slick rails, but I picked up a LW URX II recently for my 11.5", but I almost don't want to give up the rail covers, as stupid as that sounds, I've just gotten so used to them over the years and I especially like the KAC panels.

Same thing with the URX III and it's slick rails. They look great and are super light, but since I have almost no experience with them, I'm apprehensive (?). We'll see I guess!

Counter sink a screw(s) in the panels and thread the panels in to the URX III.

I've been running AFG's now and found they really work for me, but decided since Gear Sector's mounts are so great, I'd give his vert grip a try and dedicate the next month to it to see how it takes.

My guess, and I had this happen on my Noveske, is that the Magpul guard sits lower than it does on others, so he needed to contour the edges a bit…

I like my Magpul trigger guards, but have found the KAC guard with one of those Ergo gappers works best for me..

Here is what I have right now. My first AR and my first build.

RRA Lower
DPMS LPK
Stag 1LH upper
A2 stock (I originally planned on building a retro A2 20inch Rifle)

I got really bored and painted the stock set I have for it.... The green I used turned out brighter than I had hoped though :cray: But the pattern turned out well I think. And since I took these pictures the green has toned itself down a little bit.

I am going to replace the stock set I have on there soon. I'm wanting to go to a collapsible stock of some sort, and I'd like a different/larger pistol grip as well. And I don't know what kind of handguard to get.... I don't really have a need for one but I kind of like the quad rails. A scope and some back up irons would be nice too......*shrug* Too many options ;)

Finally went and ordered a BCM middy upper, during my range trip I learned the need for locktite on the BUIS, :D. Otherwise, it was an absolute joy to shoot.

Here's what I picked up Friday after work for the BCM Middy upper that will be here Wednesday.

Just noticed after looking at the picture that it looks as though the roll pin on the bolt catch isn't quite in all the way. I purchased this as a complete lower so it was put together by the company. Since I was in a hurry and had too many things to do in too short a time I never noticed until I got home.

It's just the FZ bolt carrier in this gun since the E3 bolt, FP, cam pin are proprietary. Works well though no issues. I really like the MOE+ grips!

What type of mag is that? What brand?

As Iraqguns said, that is one of the new Lancer AWM mags. I really like these they also work in the FN SCAR.

I ordered a hat from BCM, and while it was pricey at $600+/-, they threw in a free upper! Also a MOE handguard, Gen 2 Rear MBUS, and a Gunfighter Charging Handle! How awesome is that? lol

I frequently shoot this way because of my astigmatism; it makes a nice little sharp dot as opposed to a semi-colon.
But you are correct, they aren't using a front sight iron sight.

Skull, how do you like having your light mounted there? Is it easy to reach, and what shooting style to you use? Im currently contemplating what setup to go with on my MOE middy.

That's where I put mine. This was it a month or two ago. Switched some thing put since then. Bg17 grip and ctr stock and Wilson trigger guard.
I use the regular under grip and activate it with my index finger on the eject side.
If I had a longer reach as with a longer fore end, I'd have a different , thumb over grip. Which would require me to mount it on the operator side and activate it with my thumb. I need to take a new pic.

I went with the same config ghostman....
I like the short fat one on that side so that It catches the knuckle of my index finger.

Just got the red dot yesterday, haven't sighted it in yet though. Hopefully sometime this week.

My S&W SBR FrankenGun build.

Only thing different from this pic to right now is I took off the KAC hand stop and put on a Troy mod grip. Keep it stubby. There's a Midwest sling swivel on the other side of the rail. and YES I'm going to get rid of the bird cage. I'll do so when I get my suppressor.

Got my Battlecomp 2.0 today that I won from the Battlecomp Tax Day Contest and had it installed today, took some pictures with the iPhone and played around with the Camera+ editing stuff, these are prob the two best ones that I was able to achieve.

Alright, just installed the MBUS and MVG, so it's done! No more messing around and changing it....been through 10+ versions already. Whew! I'll keep it simple and no BS, and be happy with how it is now.

That's a wicked shot Mark....I have never seen one that looked that damn good. Holy smokes, I scared to shoot my AR's now...I never knew a explosion went off only inches from my face..:D

That goes beyond a typical explosive looking shot, it looks like damn plasma coming to eat your face:cool:

I wish....I borrowed my Recce glass the 2.5-10x24 this morning to bust a piece of steel/tin at a bit north of 300yds. Check it out...at 317yds to be exact according to the LRF, I still got a nice bang.....ding report which was what I was after. I gotta keep stretching this little one out...lots of fun, but you already know this since you have been a fan of Patrol or "outdoor" styled CQB's/SBR's since we been pals.

Shooting from the hood of my car @ 317yds using Hornady Superformance Vmax 53gr....aka the flattest .223 load avail.

Just bought my first AR,

Geissele SSA trigger group
Troy ambi bolt release, ambi safety, and ambi mag release
BCM GF charging handle
Bushmaster takeoff A2 carry handle

Weighted Fulton Armory A1 / C1 Stock with trap door end plate
Magpul mid length handquard

But it will eventually become a retrokissmod dissipator with A1 triangular handquards as soon as I figure out how to attach the handguard end plate to the front sight without having the barrel turned down.
