Nice, which WOA barrel exactly?
Very nice. How do they shoot?
Hope you get some great use out of it! Considering the almost non-existent recoil of the .22 rounds you were shooting, in conjunction with running your Geissele SD3G trigger, it must've almost sounded like you were shooting full auto at the range today!:p

Thanks. And I did. A Winchester 333 round pack this morning and most of a 555 round pack this evening. Then a little AE XM193 last, those 5.56 rounds felt like 7.62 NATO in my hand after shooting .22LR all day :ph34r:
edit: I had to use the 400M BDC at 100 yards but the groupings weren't any worse than 193 or 855 at 100. Not bad for a little 36gr out of a 1/7 LMT.

ok I see you marked your rail and T1 on the adjustments and screws to show where they are in case you ever back them out or they come loose......my question is what do you guys use to do that with?

that is a surefire light and tape, but is that an older picatinny attachment or an aftermarket block for the standard SF tape?

Yeah, the witness marks were done with a Testers model paint pen. Comes off easily with a bit of carb cleaner on a rag if needed.
Turn around was 3 weeks but half that time was waiting for the multi cam coating. Brothers didn't used to stock military patterns....they primarily catered to hunters but they told me that they are going to start carrying multi cam and ATACS now.
I didn't coat the rails at the suggestion of brothers. The film is fairly thick and can change rail dimensions. Some things might be hard or impossible to slide on. Also some things, like the sight mount can clamp so hard it will chip the coating off. The coating is a film. It's pretty durable but you don't want it to start chipping off cause it might start peeling.

It's a 20 inch DMR that I had cut and recrowned to 18 by Predator Customs. I also had Bob over there install a new gas block mounting system. Instead of the flats for set screws to tension against, he drilled set screw holes in the bottom of the barrel to clamp against in order to make sure the gas block never moves.
How heavy is the rifle with that DMR barrel?
Does it balance well?
That's why I kept the barrel. The barrel is so light for it's length, the gun handles better than my 14.5 Noveske.
Very flickable and it points so easy.

Little something different for you guys tonight.....it's been on my long range Bucket List for several yrs. Mythbusting that internet bullshit that 55gr. bullets outta 1/7ths will all together not shoot well at all, or if they do the wind defeats them after only a few hundred yards.

The very clear bullet trace footage/results on the target, as well as the amount of rounds I used for this test clearly illustrate that if you pick the RIGHT .223 55gr. bullet than anything is possible.

A - there is a round chambered and the Army likes when you keep the muzzle pointed down.
B - there is a barrel cap to keep the dirt out.

built completely by me except assembled upper receiver(forward assist&dust cover) and bcg. started with dpms stripped lower and parts kit later got spikes nib battle trigger set though contrary to input of other my dpms trigger wasnt that bad for single stage. Also got jp reduced power spring kit(4.5lb pull). I have spikes nib bcg and it is as advertised wipes down clean even after shooting wolf tho the tail of the bolt where the firing pin goes thru cakes up enough that it needs to be scraped also no malfunction thru 400rnds various manf. ammo. YHM diamond rail handguard(had some probs with,but was my fault). YHM upper receiver(m4 feedramps), YHM 5.56mm 1/7 twist 14.5" carbine length gasport diamond fluted barrel with pinned 5c2 phantom flash hider to bring length to legal. YHM 2 piece gas block, YHM QDS flip up sights(pretty sweet and functional), MOE collapsible stock(nice and tight with no play) see no need to spend xtra $ on ctr stock but... oh and bcm gunfighter mod 4 charging handle and troy battle rail covers, wanted a nice m4gery hope this measures up and I like the carbine gas system no issues so far:)8860

plan on going with eotech at some point, it was a fun but frustrating build. future ones will be easier, previous to this my only "build" was assembling a lower and attaching assembled upper, this one was all me. Thanks

Skull, hey brother do you extend your stock that far on all your carbines, or is it because that one has the shorter 9" handguard with less space so you can't extend your arm as much as with a longer rail? Basically, is extending the stock like you are in the above pic compensating for the shorter handguard?
Just curious, because that's what I did whenever I had a similar upper.

That's my buddy who has gorilla arms and as what you have stated to compensate. He is a big fan of Magpul.:D
I used the same thumb over technique but don't need to extend the stock all the way. I have short arms so it's unnecessarry. ::D

Check this out guys...most amazing thing Ive ever captured on film ballistics speaking...A FREAKING BULLET GLINT...5 whole frames that makes it unmistakeable and irrefutable in regards to what it is. There is also a swirl at the end that literally MELTS the target. Just watch it, it damn near took my breath away when I just played back my footage from this AM.

if you look close there is, but the glock job took me a little under 4 hours to prep and paint, so not bad for that time frame.

I'd rather not do the typical gun forum thing and get into a pissing match where everyone can see. Taking it to PM's, usually, is a good way to resolve issues. But some people just resort to name calling and irrational responses, which is what the 'ignore button' is for.

This is my first ever AR... local gun shop built it up for me with all DD parts, started as a standard m4 upper minus removable carry handle, with pictured flip up rear sight. The lower was built as shown with the grip, stock, trigger guard.
Added the DD omega x rail, lo-pro gas block, front sight, and magpul AFG today to finish it off.
I think I'm going to switch to the Aimpoint Micro H1 if anyone is interested in the XPS3-2 that is on it now. Sight is in perfect condition. I've had it about 6 months and has 100 rounds on it.

How did you mount the g36 handguards?
The PWS hand guard allows the removal of the side rails. Once those are yanked off, I mod the HK G36 hand guard to fit (I remove the heat shield and some other material with a drill and hacksaw). Then I stretch it (with the holes I drilled) over the QD mounts on the side of the hand guard and it pops on (with a little help from a rubber mallet).

Glad to see that someone else uses a scope ring to mount a light. I did that on a rifle using a polymer rail section bolted to the M4 handguards. Simple, but it works.
It's simple, rugged and most importantly, it's affordable. I'd like to have a high speed light mount, but I've got better things to spend my money on.

"Extensively tried" as in real training? Just curious because of all the classes I've been too, I haven't seen that one, but maybe due to very few lefties there? FYI - this isn't my typical sarcastic comment, I'm seriously interested who teaches that 'dismount'.
It does make me want to dump the Mercedes (and wife's Jag) and go back to BMW. Been driving one since I was 19 until 2 years ago when we switched (M3, X5 and then a 540 with the 6 speed manual). The new 5 series is unbelievable and had I taken a more serious look, I wouldn't have ended up with the E class.

I miss my M3, but the new E 550 has an insane amount of power on tap and the 350 4matic hangs in there as well! I'll go back to the 5 series (hopefully an M5 or maybe an M6 but doubt it) after this one though I'd imagine. Don't get me started on the wife's as it's not an 'R' or the newly released model (but she thinks it's pretty!). My buddy has a '09 911 Twin Turbo convertible he's selling, but it ain't happening for me unfortunately!
I can appreciate the Petty Racing, I've done Skip Barber's a number of times and have spent a bit of time with Rahal back in PA. Another expensive vice!
Alex, on a side note, have you tried coming out of the driver's side at a high ready? This is one of those times it could be a real benefit for you being a lefty.

I only have one upper receiver and handguard at the moment so I put this together today so I can go to the range on Monday. Waiting for my 12.5" barrel to get here. I like the RIS II over the DD LITE because of the tucked in lower section and may get a non FSP MK18 handguard for this barrel.

I recently purchased a 14.5" PSA upper with a YHM C2 pinned FH, full auto BCG, 1:7 twist and 4150 steel and mated it to an AeroPrecision lower. I bought some Magpul furniture to get away from the typical black of my other AR, and here it is. I have only shot 300 rounds so far, but it was fast and furious. It smoked a lot, got very hot, but it fired every shot and there were no incidents of failure. The mbus co-witness in the lower third of my red dot. Can't wait to go out with it again-maybe this week. Complete cost before transfer = $580, total cost after transfer (not including the magpul stuff) = $620. Not bad!

Like what type of shots? I have a shitty camera and about the same level of photographical skill as an untrained ape. My friend took those two photos and she is much better at it than I am.

Will a 12.5 have enough barrel in front of the FSB for the SPR mount?
Not 100% certain on the FSB, thinking I may just do a 9" DD LITE rail and lo pro gas block to be certain it will all work. I've got the 9" DD LITE rail but BCM only offers their 12.5" upper with a 10" DD LITE rail. Its an easy swap and I'll have a very much like new 10" DD LITE for sale to recoup some cost. Although going with the FSB and a magpul moe hadnguard would be less expensive and serve my needs just as well and probably be lighter (maybe?). Decisions decisions... All I know is my SPR/M4 should be here in just three long ass weeks.!!

I think I need glasses finally, the irons are giving me trouble picking up.
I just put on the Samson myself over the weekend. Feels great, much lighter than the MI quad I had before, and much cleaner in the hand. Great balance and solid so far.
The rifle will shoot 1/2" at 100 yd off the sandbag with Hornady 75gr TAP and the TAP training ammo. This is my do all SHTF/HD/Zombie/class, etc rifle. I've sold most of my locker and I'm down to this and a couple of .22s.

first "three" gun. borrowed a buddy's pump shotgun. had a pretty clean day of shooting except for the stage 3 mishap. ended up placing 9th out of 51 shooters. enjoy.

These look good. I'd like to get some time on one eventually. It looks like they designed the pattern around the older pmags. Not the I care or that it would matter....just an observation. I wonder if that's a change coming from this pre-production model...

Where did you decide to do your engraving on the KAC lower? I've been thinking about SBR'ing one.
Check out Orion arms if you want engraving. Prices are awesome, turnaround time is awesome. All around good

specs:
- WOA SPR (rifle gas) 18" Barrel
- dimpled in front of the gas block
- re-profiled under the hand guard to 0.600
- cut to 17"
the barrel ended up weighing only 1lb 10oz. (26oz.).

LMT Complete Rifle. I added a midwest industries two piece drop in rail and a tango down stubby QD. I wanted a basic build that takes on a military issue look.
The light is an HDS EDC Executive 120. The knife is an ESEE 4.
