How do you like the Magpul handstop?

Its really not a bad setup, however I'm not sure its for me. I put a Magpul RVG on today as I tend to use a vert grip kind of like an AFG. The handstop kit is quality though.

Made a couple changes-bought a shorter bit of synthetic (plastic) rail from Ergo to mount the 6P on,and since I didn't care for the Super Stc I traded it here for a Magpul MOE stock which is actually nicer then the standard one:

Thinking of a scope to go with a better RDS here later,going to get the BLAM rail for the bayo lug and get a clip on bipod to go with the scope-pop off the RDS,clamp on the scope and bipod=instant extended range.

Aervoe paints through a doubled up camo net, ala Pat Rogers and others. You can find some great tutorials on Lightfighter.net, and around here. Jon Consiglio posted some really great stuff as well on a truer multicam paint job using these same paints.Another member here, Retreat Hell posted some awesome stuff as well. If you youtube Retreat hell's channel he's got a great vid where he paints his SPR in this same basic method.

I ordered the Aervoe paint from Brownells, it's hard to find locally. It's worth the extra couple of bucks getting it to you vs going to Walmart for krylon, ask anyone who's sprayed a gun with it. :)

The plates look like The Predators ghillie suit. It took a couple of seconds for my eyes to focus on it. Very cool picture.

Appreciate it dash. I didn't even notice how well the plates blended in with the berm until I started messing with the picture. Thought it was pretty cool as well.

Thanks man. It's the NSR panel handstop. I'm usually adamantly against using any of the NSR handstop pieces but was able to get this one fully seated without wiggle or sheared off plastic so it stayed. I've pretty much determined the handstop pieces with keymods on both sides are impossible to completely seat correctly. OCD FTW :eek:

Messing around with light setups and a fixed fronts these days so I sold off my Noveske troys for a soon to be unmarked troy rear and first BAD CASS ST. This weekend can't get here soon enough.

The photo is kinda driving me nuts, but the rifle is awesome. Future plans will be a BOBRO mount, and M600U at the 3 o'clock while it serves HD duty. Once I have a dedicated HD gun, I'll put on the EXPS3 that it deserves and possibly a G33 magnifier. Oh and I do want to try out the Gunfighter forward grip once the stubby is available.

Built this rifle off a Core -15 lower with a Daniel Defense S2W 18 inch 1/7 Barrel and a DD BCG. Upper is from Spikes and the UPK and LPK is from Stag. Scope is a Simmons Aetec 3.8x12x44mm with sun shade. I mostly use it for hog and deer hunting. Burris Fastfire III is for close in stuff off the swamp buggy.

I swapped for what sounds like the first civilian Karl Lewis designed rifle. It's a '93 Eagle Arms Action Master, 20" bbl w/free float handguard. Looks like a concept SPR to me. Pic is with my 18" clone for comparison. Oldie is 8lb 10.8; newie 7lb 7.2oz

Happy to see a Weaver mount for Vortex2.5-10x32. I watched a how-to on installing a picatinny riser, but it involves butchering the original rail. Ugh.

Sure. The barrel is a Noveske SS 14.5" that I sent to Marvin Pitts to have dimpled and cerakoted Armor Black. Upper is a Vltor MUR (couldn't get a Noveske MUR), lower is a Noveske Gen 2. The rail is a Geissele SMR Mk.1 Mod 1 13".

Upper, lower and rail were cerakoted Tactical Gray by Todd at Shadow Ops Weaponry in Longmont, CO (awesome operation and great guys there).

Trigger is a Geissele SD3G. There are a lot of little Noveske touches on it from the takedown/pivot pins to the selector and BUIS. LPK is from Colt. Brake is a Surefiree SFMB 556. I am hesitant to add up how much I spent on this thing.

Appreciate the kind words brother but munch and consiglio are the multi-cam gurus around here. Gonna try again this long weekend to make up my hershey-cam as I call it. Its basically multi-cam but with only shades of brown and tan. Last time I tried I just got frustrated and ended up doing the whole rifle brown.

That's a piece of art not a weapon so it stands to reason that it's expensive! What's the tally anyway?

Did you decide on your own on the color scheme or did you have pro help? Very tastefully done!

I'm gonna have to add it up, took months to get everything together and another month to paint and dimple.

I picked every part after reading everything on this forum for a few years, and then shooting everything I could to find what I liked. Thanks!

There's two problems: 1) They're talking about $30 a pair when I can get them for $20 from YHM and 2) I can't even order them yet even if I wanted to. If I'm outfitting several AR's that 50% increase in price will add up to lots of money I could have spent on ammo. Thanks for the heads up though and I will consider them before making my decision.

Stick, John should have received the T&E pins by now, our friends at DMG will get units (also T&E) shipped next week, John was aware of the existence of this project when we were close to finalizing them. I didn't send more because we didn't have that many in a very limited run, and we may be making one minor change, pending user input.

They're not out commercially yet , only T&E folks and our partners have received the initial units.

Sure. The barrel is a Noveske SS 14.5" that I sent to Marvin Pitts to have dimpled and cerakoted Armor Black. Upper is a Vltor MUR (couldn't get a Noveske MUR), lower is a Noveske Gen 2. The rail is a Geissele SMR Mk.1 Mod 1 13".

Upper, lower and rail were cerakoted Tactical Gray by Todd at Shadow Ops Weaponry in Longmont, CO (awesome operation and great guys there).

Trigger is a Geissele SD3G. There are a lot of little Noveske touches on it from the takedown/pivot pins to the selector and BUIS. LPK is from Colt. Brake is a Surefiree SFMB 556. I am hesitant to add up how much I spent on this thing.

Wow! That is one nice Noveske build. I love the gray and black look. Very impressed!

Just put together this build. I got the upper from member "greatnw" in the EE. I went with an Aero Precision lower with a BAD-ASS ambi safety, KNS non-rotating pins, BCM Gunfighter handle, Magpul MOE grip, CTR stock, trigger guard, and rear MBUS all in FDE with a Aimpoint T1 on a Larue Mount.

My only AR, with my new Larue Comp M4 mount and Eotech G33. I was hoping that the G33 w/ 7mm spacer would align with the Larue lower third mount, but unfortunately it sits slightly too high (~2-3mm). I can see clearly through the optic with the magnifier and can center the dot; can I assume that this mis-alignment will not be an issue?

Thanks! It's my SOPMOD Block II clone. Wanted a BCM anyway so figured I'd make a Block II clone out of it since I was going with the RIS II rail regardless.

Only thing that bums me out is the FDE on the Bravo stock is much lighter than the Magpul FDE (which you can clearly see in the picture).

Blem upper and lower by PSA with a non chrome DPMS barrel. The only non stock things are the magpul grip and polymer trigger guard.

Nothing fancy and so far very accurate.

I asked him for BUIS and he told me it is fine the way it is, all of the carbines issued to my team are identical to this one

Sorry to dig up something from the past but I must call bullshit on this... As a retired LEO/SWAT officer from UT I know the UT DOC qualifies with the HK G36 so this makes even less sense... And I've never seen their SWAT team wear OD vests unless they're part of JCAT... My K9's sire was a UTDOC dog too...

And since its a pic thread...

Correct. I've got some BFG 10-speed pouches I've thought about placing on there, but I really like it slick. I'm going to get another one for my second set of plates so I may make that one the "heavy load out". It is an awesome PC though. No gripes so far. (I know it's still eay too clean)

Gotcha and thanks. I've used it recently with the DD mount on top like yours and I liked it as well but not at first b/c I had to get used to rotating the rifle a bit more than if mounted on the side. Nothing a little practice didn't fix.

No because I put my AAC can on that AAC brake on that SBR. ;)

The straps that you have passing through the slot in the butt stock, are you using them as a rear sling attachment and if so, do you recall who made them?

I think it'll work out fine. Let us know how the rail covers hold up and if the the light and VFG seem to get farther and farther away as the day (or night) progresses.;)
