View Full Version : Latest from Tac 1 Pistol
We just completed another Tac 1 Pistol class at our place and we couldn't have had better weather (for once). Here's a few pics of some of the events.
First day (post shooting proceedure)
Rapid assumption of position
Long range pistol engagements (OK, this was just for fun, but it builds confidence in the weapon and re-enforces marksmanship)
Support hand only reloads and malfunctions
More support hand work.
A few more pics (responcse drills while moving)
Cool stuff! Who were your instructors?
Doug Harris and me. I just grabbed a few shots when I could.
I was fortunate enough to be a member of the November 2010 class with Tom Alibrando and Doug Harris as instructors. If you have not taken a class at U.S. Training Center, you are missing out on some of the best instructors your hard earned training money can buy. This was not my first class at USTC, but it was my first pistol only class. The class begins with a review of the fundamentals to make sure everyone is on the same page. You will then quickly accelerate to multiple targets, moving targets, shooting on the move and more. My favorite part of the class was the shoot house. How many places can you train that can even incorporate this into their program? Plus, you will shoot on a Rogers Range. Need I say more? Well, I forgot to mention the night shoot where you will learn how to employ a handheld light and the pros/cons of a weapon mounted light.
What truly sets USTC apart from other training facilities is the quality of their instructor cadre. They are professionals that stay current with their field and are only too willing to share their knowledge with you. Safety is always paramount. Don't be overly concerned about your shooting level. Whether you are a fairly new shooter or you've been at it for years, the instructors will pick up on this and find ways to challenge you without leaving you behind or boring you, as the case may be.
