Can anyone confirm the model number of the civilian version of this scope? To the best of my knowledge, I believe it is 944LPGENII, but I could be wrong as I thought the USMC version was illuminated.

S&B PM2 Website (http://www.schmidtbender.com/scopes_policemarksman.shtml#)

Any recommendations where to purchase it?

Thanks for the help all.

Not a whole lot of info on their site.

Their owner died, unexpectedly. I can imagine that there are more pressing issues than a website.

Premier Reticles put the "Gen II" in Gen II reticle nomenclature from S&B. ;)

Chris Thomas died ? When?

Chris' father, Dick, died a year or two ago. Leupold shafted them kinda hard, and they have the one of the S&B contracts.

I'm a little disappointed in the website, but I can kinda understand why it's sparse.

Ok, I knew about that. I met Chris in June and got the down low on the Leupold deal. He invitied me to come shoot at their indoor range sometime when I fly into Dulles. I haven't made it out there yet.

Sorry to side track this thread. Now back to your regularly scheduled programing.

Is this turret the double turn version?
http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r193/Crash_1/BadgerOrdnance.jpg

I've talked to a few different vendors, and I've gotten different answers from each. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the Marines are using the illuminated double turn, parallax with Gen 2 reticle. I was told the model number would be:
944LPGENII where the L denotes illuminated, the P for parallax, but I have no idea what denotes the double turn turret. And it would seem that not many venders know either.

My advice is to email Mark Cromwell at S&B USA and ask him.

Shivan I was not aware of that. That is tragic and my prayers go out to the whole PR family. I will ask some squared away Marines tomorrow at work about the whole scope numbers deal and if S&B is going to offer the Corps model to the public.

Who makes that SIMRAD cap? I asked Badger Ordnance, and they said that they did not make the 6 screw version. It was Marty @BO, who told me that. Makes me wonder if he meant that they no longer made that mount...

FOUND IT, if you are interested. (http://www.spa-simrad.com/male_dovetails.htm)

Update for anyone who is interested in this scope:

I've spoken with Mark Cromwell at S&B USA , and he advised that scope pictured above by me, is in fact the original delivery of these scopes to the Marines. They are now receiving a MTC (More Tactile Clicks) turret version pictured by Voodoochild.

A snippet of his e-mail:

After delivery of these scopes the Corp went from calibrated window turrets to asking for the development of the non calibrated 0.1MilRad MTC turret which is presently being deployed on the scopes.

For those that are truely interested in these - read up on MTCs - they are having some problems while the regular DT versions do not seem to be effected. (Search Sniper's Paradise - I'm not a member or I'd post it)

Mine is a DT. I have had no issues.

Haven't had a chance to do anything with it, but I'm hoping to get some time this weekend.
